I read something about this once.. and there are language programs that you can play while resting, workign and sleeping.. but the play a word, repeat a word etc system seems to be the most common!
More research required I think.. JFGI (Just farken google it)
Now audiobooks is another matter. My dear old mum of 74 is now legally blind and has lost the ability to read, she is a bibliophile from way back and instilled the love of reading into all 6 of her kids.
I have been discussing the options with her about getting audiobooks but she is not sold on the idea as she is not a techhead. I mean she is highly computer literate with bookkeeping etc but not a fan of the net and would be probably put off by a small MP3 type player for audiobooks.
What other types of players are there as I know very little about audiobooks?
Good point though Belle above, When I met a previous partner (Stepping stone to true love) I used to wear musk based aftershaves and Rexona musk underarm deodorant, I loved the musk smell and I thought it suited my skin type. ' However within a few weeks of dating and other things I found that my partner would ask me to shower before we met and before sleeping and I asked why?
I found out that she was allergic to musk and it gave it her migraines.. so I just changed brands, style and deodorant, it was no skin off my nose to make a small change to save what became a 10yr relationship.
Smoking however is a different story, I personally can't cop it as I have chronic vaspomotor rhinitis and it affects me very badly (I can barely breathe) so I choose not to be around smokers at all.
I have read 5 books so far this swing, and my reading taste is like my musical taste, a bit of everything.
1. Raymond E Feist - Prince of the Blood 2. Lee Child - Nothing to Lose 3. Belgariad - David Eddings 4. Nicholas Monsarrat - Master Mariner 2 (Darken Ship) 5. Lee Child - The Visitor
As I have now run out of books to read I am half way through 10 short stories you must read in 2010... a bit Meh!! but I would read a bus ticket when I a desperate.
I was just talking to a friend about buying an electronic book reader..but have not even looked at them.
Would you recommend a particular brand/make/model?
If Yes, Why?
Is it easy to get decent books inexpensively, as I tend to haunt my local charity shops for my books because I read so many.
