hi there dragondog4, i ended up having a good chat with her last weekend and alot of positive stuff happened and i ended up staying there and got to know the kids better and now realize that its inmature of me to try to rush things and also i should be and am thankfull for what i have got ,so its a learning process and yes its much better to openly discuss things before they get out of hand. i know im 50 but its never to late to learn when it comes to relationships,thanks for your advice and i have actually taken much of your suggestions and have had a good outcome,patience and good communication are trully needed.
thanks dragondog4. i think that when you said it depends on how hard you wish to work it has made me realize that effort is required and patience and understanding and if you want something bad enough you do what it takes to try to stick in there. good post
thanks for that balanced reply and i also believe on reflection that the kids should come first and also as you say its a mere 4 months ,i have no qualms with that also.
my new girlfriend of 4 months says she cares for me dearly but feels uncomfortable having me at her place cause she has children,2 teenagers,but i am a single guy living alone and really need company and feel strongly for this lady and have met her children and stayed a few times there. i feel that although i really care for her there will never be a full relationship and thats what i want ,but her youngest child is 14 and it will be many years before she moves from home and i now realize that i dont think i can wait that long to have a girfriend that i can spend serious time with ,i know its my fault for starting a relationship under these cercumstances but its just that i have met other couples who met and didnt find the children to be a problem in a new relationship. should i consider starting afresh and looking for a new relationship as i dont want to hurt this lady but i would also like to find a lady that wants a partner not just a part time boyfriend and i am confused now as to what the best thing to do is ,shes dear to me but i cant see any future in regards to us becoming a couple that lives together.
its one of the risks we take when we date and form relationships as many times one person can have much stronger feelings than the other and if your lucky then you find someone that you feel the same intensity for.years ago i was dating or seeing a lady that i really liked but i didnt feel that i was in love with her and one day she told me that she was falling in love with me and i had to be honest with her and told her how i felt ,i felt bad as i know i must have really hurt her feelings and we split up in the next month but at least she was then able to go on and look for the right person,i dont believe you should just say you love someone if thats not what you feel ,its not easy though but dont be pressured into saying something thats not true,i think if you find the right person you are happy to use the love word but i think its better not to rush into using it till you sure.

i,m wondering if its normal to stay with someone your whole life or is it more realistic to expect that we eventually become bored with someone we have seen and been with for such a long time and that graving a change of partner may be healthy ,i understand that raising a family is very important and that couples should do their best to stay together and have a stable family life for their kids,but i have found from chatting to women and dating some here and there that alot of people seem to grow apart as decades go by and all the joy they once had is then gone. it would be wonderful to have an ongoing joy to be with the same partner for your whole life but is it really achievable for the majority of us as so many of our relationships fall apart far short of the marriage vows that we took.
hi lilac 1, i think to look into the profiles carefully is essential and to meet people in a public place is wise till you get to know someone well. you may meet many people and not feel that you connect strongly with anyone but may find some friendship ,eventually i think you have to meet someone face to face to know if they are being real with you and as you date your nervousness will subside and and you will become more skilled at dating. its easy to say but trying not to be to sensitive to having your feelings hurt and looking at dating as a new adventure and to enjoy your time meeting and getting to know new people can be fun,i strongly believe most people on these sites are sincere,you may meet a few who are not but try to brush that off as i have found from my experiences that there are many really nice people looking for friendship and are kind and genuine people,goodluck with your journey on this site and i hope you find what your looking for.
yea thanks Maries poodles, i have a better understanding ,so its the connection on all levels ,that makes sense ,and i guess that it requires commitment and giving of ones self to the other person or the desire to do so. life has many wonderful aspects i must try hard to stay tapped into it.
i have wondered about the nature of love and when a man and woman fall in love is it something more than just a physical bonding ,and mass release of chemicals and hormones designed by nature to pair people up??How can one tell between falling in love and falling in lust??or infatuation?? it may sound a dumb thing to ask but i would really like another opinion on this as im not sure
when i lived on a farm the jehovas witnesses would drive all the way out to my place to save me and after telling them i wasnt interested they would plain ignore me and do their best to keep talking which i found rude and it made me angry or frustrated at least,i told them to let their head office know that i didnt want them to call anymore but it didnt work,so one time when they came out again ,ignoring all the other times i told them not to i just didnt open the door to them and they finally got the message. the thing is that it made me feel like i was being unkind but what can you do when they wont respect your wishes
I just needed to get other people views on this scenario as its something i havnt havn,t had experience with before ,it gives me much food for thought as many people have responded and i appreciate the imput so thanks to all.
i am wondering what other people think about dating a lady who tells me that she has seperated from her husband for 2 months now but still lives in the same home as him. personaly it makes me feel a bit strange as i am single and live on my own and im just not sure if this lady is really seperated when they still live together and has no immediate plans of moving out,am i wasting my time?? am i being tricked ,im not sure as i havn,t come across this before in my dating experiences?/
