Well, Im considering inventing a device that automatically turns on the AC/Heating, the TV remote, chills the wine and brings me a glass on voice-activation and sings me to sleep at the end of the day...
The nationality of certain inventors can be tenuous at best sometimes!
For instance, Alexander Graham Bell was born a Scot, but his most famous invention was brought about by his learnings and research investments funded by Canada AND the USA. So, who can take credit for it?
Secondly, the plan behind the Bank of England was indeed proposed by Sir William Paterson, again born in Scotland, but the Bank was not established and made into a working project until a few years later by Charles Montagu, Earl of Halifax - an English aristocrat and high ranking official.
So, again, which country can take the credit for the founding of the Bank?
Alot comes down to which country has the best facilities and the most money for research.
I seem to remember at a previous tournament somewhere, teams were blaming their mistakes on the quality of the Astroturf..
The bottom line is that Greene cocked up big time. He had no striker looming over him, he had relatively enough time to have another grasp at the ball, and couldnt react quick enough.
There is no excuse for his mistake.
I will say that I have seen England lose/draw many times in early games, and then go on to play very well in the tournament. If they had to play badly, the first game was the one to do it in.
Now, they really have to step up, and do what is expected of them though. No more chances..
The most important decade to me is the one Im living in right now.
It is a sum of all my previous ones, and an aspiration to all my future..
It is a statement of who I am right now, and not what I want to be..
It is what is now to me; and thats all that matters.
A friend of mine died yesterday; he was in his 50s. He died of alcoholism, I believe. He had the ability to change his life, but not the strength or the willpower..
If I didnt realise it before, I realise today that THE NOW is where I belong, and to make the most of each damn moment.
The coverage and time spent on the Soccer World Cup here in the States has even surprised me. They are obviously very clued up on it, very interested in it and feel as proud of their own team as the rest of us.
RE: IT TOOK THREE WEEKS!!!!!
Congrats to you too, Irish Gent.
