When a millionaire business person takes on the guise of a financially poor person to experience the life style, if you like..

I think that would be a good idea as regards online dating; that seems to be a perfect way of weeding out the gold diggers from the genuine..

Immigrant

How do you feel about immigrants to your country in general?

Do you welcome them?
Are you suspicious of them?
Do you think immigration levels should be curbed?
Do you think that new immigrants should "assimilate" completely?


An example..

Recently, I stayed in a hotel complex that had been owned for generations by a local family apparently, until a couple of years ago.

It was then taken over by a foreign family, who already owned several other properties in the area.

The general consensus of local opinion seemed to be one of slight resentment, because it seemed that these properties/businesses were simply being milked for all available profits, not being maintained to the full extent that they should be and generally just being run with only the minimum of care.

The profits from these businesses are apparently being sent overseas to the owners' families, rather than being ploughed back into the business and/or local economy. There seems to be a history of businesses being bought, squeezed dry and then dumped. Is this beneficial to anyone apart from the family involved, if the profits from these enterprises are not - at least in part - put back into the local economy?

How do you feel about this? Do you feel that if you immigrate to another country your first priority should be your overseas family, or the well-being of the area you have moved to? Or both?

But we felt so humbled by Stephen Hawking Wanna Be's like yourself posting threads, we got kinda put off...

I dont need to consult a "Manual" to know when I'm feeling sad, happy, bitter, joyous, OR jealous.

Like political correctness, this "analysing" emotions has gone too far, in my opinion. If we are honest with ourselves, we most of us know when we are feeling something, and don't need anyone else to confirm it for us.

Every year, at around this time, there is always some event that sparks off renewed fear of a new bombing/violence campaign. It is mainly because of the heightened tensions surrounding the Orange Marches.

This time last year, I remember hearing similar warnings; nothing happened.

I am not sure how much of this story is based on fact, and how much of it is based on media hype and scaremongering, personally.

Anyway, peace is vital, and long may it last.

From what I've experienced and heard, a lot of men actually love being the pursued instead of the pursuer..

I dont think it should be up to the guy all the time. Guys have nerves too; we have to do our bit also, in my opinion.

The first guy I met was not anything like as tall as he said he was.

I have been on and off here for quite a while now, and I have noticed that some members have the same pic up as they did when I joined. Surely, they must have changed in some way in that time? I always try to keep my photos current, even though Im not looking anymore.

Keeping a two year old photo up is a little shabby..
