These parents do it for themselves, not the kids in my opinion. They use the excuse that it teaches the kids "competition is healthy"..

Yes, it can be. But encourage them to learn competitive skills on the baseball pitch, or the gymnastics hall, not plastered in make up and hair pieces..

I consider it all a little distateful.

Us women spend enough of our life wearing make up in order to conform and "fit in".

To plaster a 5 year old in it is, to me, obscene and unnecessary.

I have never seen any program where this pagentry has occured where the child is anything but a Real Madam..

Its a pity its this end of the summer, but it has a furnace so I fully intend to get out in it during the winters.

Yep, its like being back in my childhood, messing around in Wendy Houses!

Well, you yourself know how big the American RV's are. This one's got a full size working oven and hob, and a refridgerator.

We have tucked away the overhead bunk, as we wont use it, and it makes it so much bigger.

Maybe we will have our first anniversary party in it..

Yep. We have had trouble with noisy neighbors outside the front of our house, so decided to concentrate on "doing up" the back, and making it a nice area to sit.

D is going to put an awning on it, put pallets outside and have the grill etc there.

Ah, none taken, my friend!

We bought it with the express purpose of parking it in the back yard, and making it a Party Area/Chill Out Area. We do not intend to tour in it, but who knows - maybe next year we will do it up and do just that!

I've cleaned it all up now, and its waterproof!

Religion can also be just the "Way you live your life"..a credo you try to use as a guide.

If I was anything, I would be a Buddhist. It appeals to me, because its more about the option to aspire than something that "tells" you to behave a certain way.

I have not read the book, but will certainly check it out.

I believe that religion is just another form of control. It is a way to mould people into a certain way of thinking, giving them a false hope that maybe they are being guided by a form other than fate. I believe a lot of harm is done by strong religious beliefs, because it can give some the mistaken idea that they are obeying a "higher cause" and therefore are not responsible for their own actions.

A recent experience for me has shown how hypocritical so-called Christian people can be, and although I am aware they are not all the same I really do think being a "Christian" is just another label one sticks on oneself to feel superior and righteous..

We have a large community of "Steppers" here in this area. They are released out into the community on their own recognisance, and are quite often no harm to others.

It does worry me though sometimes, when I see them out and about, talking away to themselves. What harm they can do to themselves, I wonder..
