I've seen some threads which speak about how women seem to gauge a man by his wallet, but what about men? I know the song talks about a woman saying that love without money can't work for her but how do the guys feel? If you're a man accustomed to a certain standard of living are you willing for the sake of love to take a step down(or perhaps several steps down)from your accustomed way of living to be with a woman who is piss poor and would have little means to contribute in a big way financially. Realistically how far would you go for the sake of love? How much does a woman's financial status matter to you? Can love truly conquer all?

I can honestly say (and a few people will agree with me) money has no bearing on love (to me that is), and most other things in my life...
It is true I need a certain amount of money to live the way it make me happy, but really has nothing to do with my happyness in general...

I am on disability and women are not comfortable with my situation.
I understand the reality of getting the bills paid, etc. but it would not deter me from true love if a woman was poor. We would find a way to make it work out.

So you could live in a cave with her so to speak once the love was there?

venusenvy: Gooood question T!!!
I think its a fair question. We've seen the comments made about women eyeing a man's wallet, car, bank account, etc...and that if a guy doesn't have a certain amount of cash that a lot of ladies aren't interested. Now the fact being that you can't take love to pay the bills but there is also the fact that cash probably can't keep you warm at nights. Soooo I thought it only fair to hear the men's point of view on this. What would be their choice?

No, love cannot conquer all.
By that I mean, love cannot pay the rent or the mortgage, keep the electric and telephone on. It cannot put food on the table. It cannot purchase all the things you need to sustain life. No one can live on love, that's the simple truth.
The question is whether or not people can live with a bit less. Some people who have really good jobs, expensive homes, etc., wouldn't look at someone else who does not have what they have. They perceive poor people as being beneath them and that includes beneath their ability to "love" them.
"Love" does not make the world go around, "money" does. Why do you think there are so many scammers online? They're not looking for "love" they're scamming people who are looking for "love" out of their "money," and from what I just read elsewhere, the scam lovers of money are winning out over the people just looking for "love."
It would be nice if love truly conquered all, but there is so little love left in this world and so much greed, hate and me, me, me.

Yea...but as I said in my first OP I need a certain amount of money for me to live how it makes me happy.....But I would say that is how I "desire" to live and that makes me happy......but that is about as far as money and my happiness will go (in my life)....It is differant for others of course and if that is what others seek then thats fine ....that also has no real bearing on my happiness...
In all reality I believe I could be happy no matter what life throws...and if all I have in this world is love....then I am better off than some people ,cause some don't have that ...

You will find my dear that there are many golden nuggets of women who would look past all this and try with you(once you are willing to also try) to make it work, the key is finding them - but they are out there.

Oh, and have a nice Friday!!
Thanks for your opinion - a woman that clearly believes in telling it like it as she sees it.

Thanks for being a brave soul and putting it out there. Nuff respect. I'm coming to some interesting conclusions from this thread. Had this been about money grubbing women the floodgates of comments would have flowed freely as I have observed many a time, yet the floor has been left open to hear the other side of the coin- about what men value and barely a peep. Very Interesting and INFORMATIVE.
I couldn't care less how much money a woman has, then again if a mans wage matters to a woman I'm screwed, I have no wage, no dept either though, quit my job six months ago, taking a year of two out n traveling between the alps and the west coast, just my dog and me in a motorhome. But least I'm living life a little,
I don't want to go live under a bridge, but money has no bearing on how I would feel about someone. I just don't want to totally support someone, but if we really were in love, I'd do the better part if need be. Guess that makes me stupid, but money isn't everything.
I am yet to find, love a lady that could ever live without the American necessities, keeping up with the Jones's. Have worked with, lived with, married, and assisted ladies immigate to America, and this place is a f---ing decease built by those killing America, its work in its Truths.

till the end of the world... true hell and back (would be my answer at the age of 25)
