RE: For those of you that live where you have to pay a license fee if you own a T.V.

exactly, commercials poison programming, if its completely eliminated by some reasonable fee this could be a good thing.
if you feel violated by any fee then dont pay it if you feel strongly about it. and as said, p2p downloading is legal by my understand in the uk, this is a wonderful option. the choice is yours. or you can complain without exercising your options.

RE: For those of you that live where you have to pay a license fee if you own a T.V.

so youre saying very few channels are available with the license alone without paying for premioum channels ?

RE: For those of you that live where you have to pay a license fee if you own a T.V.

also, i hear p2p downloads are legal in uk. dont you use them.

RE: For those of you that live where you have to pay a license fee if you own a T.V.

are you just angst by the system asking you to pay or can you imaging being made to watch 30% commercials to watch programming.
im sure i would be opposed to have to pay some kind of tax. just saying it might be worth it to see uninteruppted programing.
we do have public televison programming that is commercial free but its lesser quantity of shows.

RE: For those of you that live where you have to pay a license fee if you own a T.V.

on the subject, i would be interested to know how many of you uk users use p2p download sites, such as movies, be honest and dont be shy.after all its legal there right ?

RE: For those of you that live where you have to pay a license fee if you own a T.V.

what im saing is that isnt it worth it to pay for comerciall free broadcasting. the comercialls take away so much of the value of the material.

RE: For those of you that live where you have to pay a license fee if you own a T.V.

RE: For those of you that live where you have to pay a license fee if you own a T.V.

RE: For those of you that live where you have to pay a license fee if you own a T.V.

i know i dont know how it works but you are able to turn on and watch unteruppted quality programming with little cost, you can watch a item throughout like reading a book without putting it down, maybe you porotest too much. its made to be able to see without interuption.

RE: For those of you that live where you have to pay a license fee if you own a T.V.

yes 150 sterling, still could be worth it if content is without ads. we get some channels comercial free. pbs, and much of it is very good.

RE: For those of you that live where you have to pay a license fee if you own a T.V.

i can understand the angst over being asked to pay but consider the programming having massive commercial content, it ruines the entertainment value. theres a tv show called monday night football here, its american football. it got to the point where the commercials outweighted the value of the programming. they played a little song jingle when going to commercial, it go to the point where i detested hearing the song, once again here we go to comercial, just maddening, not something i could watch at home anymore, ok if its on in a pub, just keep an eye on the score but not a functional program on its own anymore. i might not be opposed to paying to see programming done right , see the game including showing whats going on between plays without having to show thenext beer comercial.

RE: For those of you that live where you have to pay a license fee if you own a T.V.

still, if theres no commercial content, thats a huge plus. how the hell much is the fee ??

RE: For those of you that live where you have to pay a license fee if you own a T.V.

telling me theres no commercials brings a whole different light on the subject, here the over the air programming which is free had loads of commercials. ill say over 30% commercials and it might be more, if the fee was reasonable i dont know if id mind paying it if i could watch commercial free. how much is the fee?

RE: For those of you that live where you have to pay a license fee if you own a T.V.

its not at all the same, there a wide variety of programming available for free. over the air broadcasting is high definition signal for no cost to you. of course theres many more channels available with pay services but thats up to the individual.

RE: For those of you that live where you have to pay a license fee if you own a T.V.

ive never heard of this either. is this over the air broadcast received through an antenna or some kind of sattelite or cable broadcast ? how much does it cost ?

RE: It's the Old Tounge in the Ear thing.

actually what works better is to stick the end of your nose in their ear and make it flex.

RE: A Date with Mr/Miss Disaster

i wouldnt be comfortable sharing my horror stories in this forum except to say one of them ends with someone vomiting on a first date.

RE: It's the Old Tounge in the Ear thing.

i dont even like tongue tacos which is very popular here.
of course with the right women i could be open to whatever.

RE: It's the Old Tounge in the Ear thing.

yeah i know, although the wet willy might be the wet finger in the ear, either way ill pass.

RE: How many love letters should a person write, before mentioning they're married?

yes thats a good one, quite an omission. i always say,no reason to cloud the issue with the facts.

RE: A Date with Mr/Miss Disaster

i think you better issue applications in the future.
get back to them if everything checks out.

RE: Willis (Sears) Tower, Chicago - THE LEDGE

RE: CS PUB is now open 3

i used to love her but i had to kill her.
(relax, its only rock n roll)

RE: what happened?

one reason is because people dont have alot of free time.
spending most of your waking hours at work that causes you to spend much of your free time taking care of the things you need to do when you dont have to be at your workplace. going online can be done in a moments notice, its convenient.

RE: Why do we do this

i dont really see the sense of considering this to be any different than talking to someone in any other venue or daily situation. yes the site is called connectingsingles but that doesnt mean youre laying yourself on the line in desperation to meet anyone. if it happens then great but you can chat and meet in many other ways whether youre looking for companionship or just like to have live communication with a wide range of people.
im just saying no one needs to ask themself why they do this.
its fun to have access to people from all over. its almost like traveling without the bad food.

RE: WHAT A SHAME!!!

obviously the best thing is to do is ignore them. why do people address this type of posting. let them talk to themselves.
chatting them up is giving them the forum they want. ignore them and theyll go away.

RE: would you consider a long distance relationship???

i think there would be the danger of it getting wierd if you didnt get together soon enough. you both would be used to relating to each other in a very different mode and could find it wasnt the same in person after communicating on line for too long.
