For anyone that remembers The Twilight Zone from TV there was an episode entitled "The Lonely" where a man was convicted of murder and sent to a deserted asteroid for 40 years.
The captain of a supply ship takes pity on him and leaves a crate containing a Robot called Alicia which looks and acts like a woman.
At first the man is repulsed but he soon falls madly in love with "Alicia" and when he is pardoned a year later he refuses to leave without his "love"
