Pedro , I agree and disagree with you. Yes there are some good real people here including you and Life but unfortunately you are outnumbered by the fakes and trolls . That's a fact . And I disagree that everyone can express there opinion. People have been banned for bizarre reasons or no reason at all
Its been a while, and I just looked in and saw this thread. Unfortunately there are not many people left here that I would have a beer with. They are all either banned, or don't come here anymore because they know that there are very few REAL people here anymore. Most are fake profiles or duplicate profiles who start stupid threads and spend their time throwing out insults to former members, or trying to set up fights. No, they are not the type of people I would have a beer with. Of course there may be some exceptions but they are outnumbered. Thats why I don't visit here anymore, this is the first time in an age.
While on holiday in Greece a couple of years ago, I discovered the greek alternative to McD's , it's called Goodies. While in most countries McDonalds is the first place people think of if you say "Fast Food" in Greece if you say "Fast Food" people think of Goodies first. Its very similar to McDonalds but better quality food, much healthier. They had salads before McDonalds discovered them and also do pasta dishes and pizza. Much more varied menu than McDonalds, and healthier.
Its as if Buddys Spirit is floating around in Clonakilty, Cork, Ireland!
A bubble-blowing ceremony tomorrow night will kick-start the country’s first kindness festival — an event that could spread nationwide. Organisers of the Random Acts of Kindness Festival in Clonakilty, West Cork, hope the event, which has as its motto ‘cut the misery — spread the positivity’ will lift the town’s spirits just weeks after the massive flood, and snowball.
They said the ‘pay-it-forward’ style event, which encourages people to perform simple, selfless and random acts of kindness for friends or strangers, has the potential to spread nationwide, if people embrace it.
"The saying goes ‘one good turn deserves another.’ This in a way is the basis for the festival," said spokesman Ger O’Donovan.
"The festival will create the environment for everyone in the town, both local and visitor, to do small, simple acts of kindness to make someone else smile.
"We believe this positivity and kindness will multiply and spread throughout the locality creating a special atmosphere."
The concept emerged out of the local Macra’s summer calendar of community-based activities.
"We wanted to do something in the community, for the community," said fellow organiser Noel Crowley. "Now we’re giving people the opportunity to do something, no matter how small, for the greater good of others.
"They can express their creativity, showcase their goodwill and spread positivity. "The great thing about this festival is that everyone can contribute to a sense of fun and happiness in the town."
The festival comes just weeks after the town centre was hit by a devastating flood.
It will open with a bubble blowing ceremony, for young and old, at 6.30pm on Connolly St tomorrow.
It continues on Saturday and Sunday with free street performances and music.
Voluntary and sporting groups will be showcased on Saturday, with juggling, history tours and a speakers’ corner on sustainability and volunteerism.
Rugby club members are teaming up with the Tidy Towns group for a cleaning project in St Vincent de Paul houses.
And ‘kindness zones’ will be set up in random places where people will receive free gifts, including vouchers, cinema tickets and yoghurts.
People who receive gifts will be handed an Act of Kindness calling card which commits them to performing an act of kindness for somebody else.
A free family barbecue takes place in the town’s Emmet Square on Sunday.
Yes, lets keep the Kindness thread going for as long as we can
I didn't get to know Jeepers as well as many others did, which I regret, but we did exchange some emails and flowers and now I wish I had kept the conversations going more than I did.
He was a lovely person and yes, he did make me smile.
Now whenever I need something to make me smile I will think of Buddy.
I haven't been here for a while but I came back just to say that Buddy always made me smile. So I have put the pic of me laughing because thats what he wanted everyone to do, smile and laugh. I remember Nulii and I were joking with him on a thread here about us catching a plane to his sunny island to get away from the dull weather here in Ireland and him meeting us at the airport.
He seemed to see only good things. What a shame more of us are not like that. Lets learn from Buddy, see the good in people, the good in the world, and spread smiles , not hate.
Women are the safest drivers, I've never caused an accident while driving and on the two occasions there was an incident, it was a man that was to blame
RE: who form the forums would you have a pint of beer with..???
