I don't think that remark is called for. I am happily fully employed in my own country and have no desire to go to yours to make a living or get benefits, thank you very much!
Bestbefore, Sorry I didn't have time to reply to your post, I just briefly replied to Pat this morning before work and ran out of time. I was not "stirring" when I posted , I thought my view was relevant on a thread about the queen. I like british people and I do respect your queen. That doesn't change my view on what royalty actually is.
I take the point about the commonwealth being an international organization. And I'm sure the 3 who you banned deserved it.
A quick reply to Pat, I won't quote because its too long.
That's a very long list and only serves to remind me why I don't support royalty. A lot of land and resources was stolen, natives killed or persuaded to support. A lot of loyal supporters planted on land that was not theirs by right. That is now history The result is now a lot of inherited wealth for the queen, and now loyal supporters all over the world.
Yes she has done a very good job with the position she inherited and she is not to blame for the acts of her ancestors

BestBefore, Please don't take this the wrong way but I would just like to say even though I do actually like your queen, her popularity in Ireland increased immensely when she visited our country and I have nothing against her personaly, but , as you may have noticed , I am anti royal, anti nobility, anti inherited mass wealth.

What puzzles me is this: Surely you knew that having a thread praising YOUR queen on an INTERNATIONAL site would get some comments that you don't like? the answer is, yes you did , because you said this in your opening post: "I guess all the cynics will have something to say" So it's a bit rich to complain on an INTERNATIONAL site that there are some nasty comments. Obviously everyone in the world is not going to be a royalist. Dont you have the power to ban people from your thread if they are particularly abusive?

Whats going on here? Lighten UP! I am Irish and I don't take offence at Pats jokes, he jokes about everyone! I know him and I know he doesn't joke to offend anyone, it's only for a laugh
But you, if you took such offence from his Irish joke, why do you think it's ok to tell a sick joke about Slovaks?
