There you are standing in front of me
What's your story, if only I could see
We've all been hurt, tainted by love
What's the future, I ask God above
Take another chance? Reach out again?
Take another risk on love or pain?
Am I that brave, strong and true?
Can I trust my heart to you?
Give up the wheel, give fate a go?
Jump in the deep, go with the flow?
Take life by the hands and fly away?
What have I to lose, except another lonely day?

Today I saw you but you never knew my name
We both felt a connection, but then we left alone
We shared a laugh, a moment the same
I looked into your eyes and took that image home
An unexpected random meeting
I will not see you again
How cruel to think that feeling was fleeting
How one sweet moment can cause me pain
Today it seems will only taunt me
Why were you sent to captivate
Your eyes, your smile now to haunt me
One moment in time, a phantom fate

The mist gathering in the valley
Hear the bird calling his mate
Chilly morning, wrapping around me
What’s in store, what’s my fate?
Left in limbo, roles are changing
Kids have left, and life goes on
Re-adjusting, and evaluating
Look to the future, walking on
Feeling the freedom, but not the joy
Turning a smile up to the skies
Looking forward, tomorrows toy
Turning seasons, years are wise
