You

Sometimes I wonder where you hide your cape
Your mask, your armour, your means of escape
You look in the mirror and but you really don't see
Why you light up my heart like a christmas tree
You're kind and you're humble, you you've got a heart of gold
Even when you pretend you're mean, hard and cold
You do more than fix cars and broken down planes
You fix hearts and lives and break down chains
You wonder why I love you, you wonder what I see
When you kissed my lips and locked my heart, I saw who I wanted to be.

Limbo

I built my love on a faulty foundation and I wear your ring like a crown

I, the queen of a broken heart, picked yours up when you were down

You owed me nothing, I asked a lot, and you gave me so much more

Now unfinished dreams like broken promises, lie mangled on the floor

My bones feel crushed and my skin feels broken, blood pours out of my veins

A smile that’s lost, heart strings taut, emptiness pulling in the reins

You could walk out and shut the door, yet you stand still in the doorway

I hold my breath as you look down at me… Will you pick me up or will you walk away?

When you are not in control

You again

Happy, jovial, ecstasy, bliss
Affection, passion, devotion this
Love is you and me, it’s joy
A dark-haired girl and a blue-eyed boy
Promise, potential, dream, delight
Separation, severance, parting, flight
Desolation, sadness, grief and pain
Wipe my tears, stop this train
