Just a short list of some of my 'all-time' favorite aircraft. Since it's only 10 it was impossible to me to include everything. When it comes to planes I could go on forever! :)
1
Boeing 747
The most successful 'jumbojet' ever! Carrying well over a billion passengers since it's introduction in the early 70's.
2
Airbus a380
This 'behemoth' is quite a grand site on the ground or in the air! Many of the World's Airports are still making revisions to their terminal buildings in order to accommodate the huge aircraft.
3
The Concorde
The most successful SST (Supersonic Transport) ever! Able to carry passengers at a speed of Mach 2 at flight level 590 this plane was indeed something 'special' in the air!
4
McDonnell-Douglas F-4 'Phantom'
This fighter was a true ' workhorse' during the Vietnam War years. A fast jet with an interestingwing and tail design was very difficult for the enemy to out maneuver. Therefore making the F4 an unstoppable force for the USAF.
5
Boeing 737
Boeing's engineering team did it again with the development of this highly versatile small twinjet! The jet has such 'staying' power that nine series/versions of it have been developed since its debut in the mid 60's. Dubbed 'Lil Fluff' the 737 is a dream to fly, and is the true sweetheart of the airline circuit!
6
Learjet
William Lear designed this tiny jet to transport executives to and from their business trips. Little did he realize the he was creating a 'dynasty' within the aviation industry! The small bizjet has broken so many speed records as well as sales records all over the globe. To date it still remains one of the most saught after planes in the world!
7
B-2 'Stealth' Bomber
Often referred to as 'The Dark Knight's' official plane, the Stealth Bomber is to this day one of America's best kept secrets. True we all know of its existence, but we know very little about how it's built in such a way the it is 'stealthy' to our enemies. Whenever it is seen though it sends chills down one's spine looking at this magnificent 'bat-like' superplane wing its way through the heavens!
8
Grumman Gulfstream V
If the Learjet is the 'sprinter' of the bizjet world, the the GulfStream V could be considered a 'marathoner!' This larger business jet is plush, fast and gets the job done with lots of style and class! If you're a fan of 'Criminal Minds' then you've seen the GulfStream in action countless times carrying 'Hotch' and the team to their various crime scenes.
9
Boeing 727
'The Whisperjet' is what this three-engined midrange plane was called. For good reason, the Pratt & Whitney JT9 Engines where the quietest engine of that time! The trijet was designed for both Eastern and United Airlines, but soon orders flooded the Boeing Company from all over the world for this amazing plane. The most successful three-engined plane since Ford's Tri-motor back in the late 20's! Many 727s are still flying to date!
10
Cessna 421
Clyde V. Cessna is considered the 'Henry Ford' of the aviation industry. Clyde put America in the air! The Cessna Aircraft Corporation over the years has built many outstanding models, one of which is the 421 'Golden Eagle.' The twin-engined turboprop is light, powerful, and comfortable for six to eight passengers. This great plane is no longer in production, but if you're real lucky there are plenty of them still around! You still may get a glimpse of this 'Golden Eagle!'
Thanks for allowing me to share these planes with you, and I sincerely hope you enjoyed it. If you have some favorites please feel free to list them! :)
