The always the ever peaceful welela posted recently a simple and yet Philosophical blog that got me thinking !
It shook me into asking
"do we have the Idea of the concept laid down the forward thinking Founders of the America all wrong."
Do You think the "Pursuit of happiness" is just an illusion. And what exactly does this simple yet very potent statement mean. ?
Perhaps it is misunderstanding this very concept that has broken the American dream, and crumbled the pillars of modern society
in America and the country’s that follow her torch of liberty. Our youngest and best hope for modern ethics in political affect. Our guiding light in the new world.
And by this I mean are we looking to hard.
Have we lost sight of the very concept. Is it lost in the competition of collecting specimens of materialistic representations of the joys of Life. ?
Surly the Pursuit of Happiness should be just that.
A pursuit, and not the struggle we have come to know it as.
Has it become a Struggle for most because a small number have proven so good in the competition, that they have accumulated the representational happiness of others.
Have a small number proven so manipulative in the race, that they have persuaded you that buying into their agenda of Happiness will ensure Yours.
Perhaps we can see if we look closely enough not only is it easy to lie about who you are in life and on the web but it is also easy to lie about who others say they claim to be. To omit a line or two when quoting, is one trick used to remove substance from a statement. To devolve the character of a peer all you need do is simply to allow them to speak and then apply your own interpretation for others to hear. It seems Modern politics Journalism and business are all perched on the soap box of happiness leaving little room in our hearts and minds to here and process our own intuition on how to secure the freedom of Joy.. How do you Judge what is true ?
Part of the Answer lies in a concept of blogs by the very articulate aRrAe.
It is an essential part of everyone's Journey to know thyself and know thyself Well. Even if it means you get lost now and again. Don't all good adventures begin when possible hero's fall somewhat from their safety zone.
Like LouLou said in one of her blogs does it matter who else believes in your vision.
Is it so important that you should shake the ground of both foundations. So they too can share your opinion.
Do you really need the consent of others to be happy. Does the very act of seeking consent or support weaken the proof of your self contentment.
Think hard on this as once the cracks appear you may spend a life time repairing them. You may even lose yourself in them.
To sum up my words to you my friends. I put it that the pursuit of happiness is not an illusion nor is it a struggle it is in fact a greatly misused and very often abused and oppressed responsibility. It is up to each one of us as responsible Individuals to ensure that no only do we have the right to Pursue Our Idea of Happiness but more so to use this responsibility to ensure that nobody else is deprived of their pursuit.
