Gold digger younger hotties....

Not really scammers, per se, but usually late 20 ish gum snapping heavily maquiaged sorts, often with child at home, dad long out of the picture, working for peanuts, in the dreaded retail sector. Ladies Madona. Photos focused on boobies, and if little is there, there are all sorts of tricks to make them look massive, such as pulling both upper arms to the sternum, while lifting with the lowers. In time, we CS older coot veterans learn how to vet these ladies away. But I take my time doing so, as there's usually a lot of fun, and less often something to learn, in doing so. Poor choices in life. We all have some.

Russia is building a wall!

Breaking News:
Vladimir Putin has ordered the construction of a wall along Russia's closest border with the United States.

Mr. Putin's translated address to the Russian people, "The Bering Strait is a natural border between Russia and the state of Alaska, but doesn't provide adequate protection from the greatest threat to Russia's national security; Sarah Palin."

Perplexed, Mr. Putin said "I long for the days when espionage consisted of more than standing on your front porch with a pair of binoculars".

It ain't exactly rocket science, folks....

......or is it? Further awesome aspects of CS are the copious warnings against scammers. Such low lives on these sites---who would have thunk it? Well all such warnings are helpful. But many of us have evolved personal strategies to vet out these pathetic miscreants. Some such human trash are identifiable, with few false positives, from almost their first few words. Sort of fun, actually.

This is NOT a joke.

Some people are finally cashing in on all those Trump lies.

There is a website that takes bets on how much Trump lies.
They chose 3 1/2 as the over/under as to how many lies Trump would tell
during his speech from the oval office today.
Over 90% of the betters bet that Trump would tell more than 3 1/2 lies during that speech.
It's no surprise that Trump went well beyond 3 1/2 lies. It wasn't close.
The website is thus out over $270,000 on this venture.

As most people are aware, never bet the under on Trump telling lies. scold

Never underestimate how much Trump lies. scold
It can cost you.... many ways.

Billion Dollar Lottery...

You can't win if you don't play... and last week the jackpot rolled up to $680 million.
Reports last night claimed the jackpot exceeded $1.6 BILLION making it the largest jackpot in the US lottery history!
Sure, I put $5 in with 30 coworkers in a chance to retire with more money than I could imagine. The girl who made the transactions for us mandated that if we hit the jackpot ALL of us have to show up Monday to decide which tour bus we will hire to go claim the prize money.

No one called or texted. sigh
No jackpot winner either...
Maybe next week.

It's YOUR move.

You play white. "Do you feel lucky...... ?"

What is the best single chess move you can make in the position shown below ?
It leads to checkmate of the black king a couple of moves later.

cheers

The chess notation is, that the location of the lower left space is a1, and the space just
to the right of a1, is b1.
Thus, the highest right corner on the board is space h8.

K = King
Q = Queen
R = Rook
B = Bishop
N = Knight
P = Pawn

So, one could move the Pawn in front of your king (Ph3) to the h4 space as
1. P h3 - h4, as your first move. But, there is a much better move.
What is the best one ?

The first one to state it, wins the challenge. peace

a REEL good blog...

My brother, me and his friends often went fishing on weekends.
We live about 6 miles from the Atlantic Ocean and could take the bus there.
Typically, their fishing gear were poles that came apart in 2 or three sections, had a reel attached and a metal tackle box used to carry hooks, lead weights (sinkers) and an assortment of tools and gadgets used in fishing.
The bus got us to the pier, where they could walk out a few hundred feet to fish in deeper water than fishing at the shoreline. There was a bait store and the entrance to the pier where you could buy supplies and live bait. If you are serious about catching fish there's a good chance you would want to attach a live shrimp on your hook.
With the sinker, your bait will drop to the ocean floor. Not all large fish look for food there, so you need a bobber that is a plastic ball about 2" wide that attaches to your line and holds the hook only as deep as you set it. As a bigger fish swims along, he sees the shrimp and takes a bite.

We all started out using lightweight fishing gear that was ideal for anything under 10" long... ideal if you were standing along the edge of a canal or small lake. If you wanted something more serious, everything had to be upgraded. I remember my brother buying a used reel from someone at the pier.
It was called Quick Finessa and had features that allowed the user to reel in larger fish. That thing was so different from the 'toys' we had earlier it allowed casting a line 2 or 3 times farther than the smaller reels. Larger bait, thicker line... we were catching larger fish.

Since I was the younger brother, I only got to use the Quick Finessa when my brother took a break as I normally had the job of catching the tiny fish 2-3" long. I could put 4 little hooks on a line, bait them with pieces of shrimp and in a few seconds catch a few 'shiners' used to cut into strips to bait the larger hooks.

I don't recall what happened to the fishing gear as we each went different ways me playing music for a living and my brother went away to college. I'm sure if I mention Quick Finessa, he will have some stories of his many fishing trips where we always had a 'reel' good time!

Tales of woe.....

I suggest that this wonderful site develop an al Gore rythym to screen out the fairly large percentage of scammers. Could be based on location, use of language, history, stories, etc. The few false positives could have a path to easily reapply, based on a few key variables. But then we'd miss all the great stories/proposals. Any folks have some of these to share, all intended to get USD's wired or mothers/kids in need of costly medical treatment? V-Aa.
