Christmas in Argentina

In Argentina the weather is warm at Christmas. Preparations for Christmas begin very early in December and even in November.

Christmas in Bangladesh

December 25th is a public holiday for Christmas in Bangladesh even though only about 0.3% of the population, of about 170 million people, are Christians! (Over 85% of people in Bangladesh are Muslims.)

Christmas in China

In China, only about one percent of people are Christians, so most people only know a few things about Christmas. The post men might dress up as Santa when delivering letters before Christmas!

Christmas in the Democratic Republic of the Congo

Christmas in the Democratic Republic of the Congo is more of a religious festival rather than being commercial. Most people won't have any presents.

Christmas in Estonia

In Estonia, Christmas time starts with Advent. Children put their socks on their window ledge and every day until Christmas Eve, December 24th, an elf comes and puts some sweets in it! On Christmas Eve families come together and in the evening Santa visits and asks people to tell him poems in exchange for gifts.

Christmas in Finland

Finnish people believe that Santa Claus or Father Christmas lives in the north part of Finland called Korvatunturi (or Lapland), north of the Arctic Circle. People from all over the world send letters to Santa Claus in Finland.

Christmas in India

Compared to other religious festivals, Christmas is quite a small festival in India, due to the number of people who are Christians (about 2.3%) compared to people who belong to other religions.

Christmas in Jamaica

Christmas is a very special time in Jamaica and like a lot of other countries, radio stations play carols all through the Christmas period.

Christmas in Lebanon

In Lebanon, 35% of the population follow a form of Christianity called Maronite Catholic. These Christians build manger scenes in their homes called a Nativity Crib. The crib is more popular than a Christmas Tree.

Lots of people like to spend time of the beach, camping or at their Baches (holiday homes) for Christmas.

Christmas in Pakistan

In Pakistan, December 25th is a public holiday, but it is in memory of Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan.

Christmas in the Philippines

People in the Philippines like to celebrate Christmas for as long as possible! The playing of Christmas carols in shops can start in September! The formal Christmas celebrations start on 16th December when many people go the the first of nine pre-dawn or early morning masses.

Christmas in Portugal

Father Christmas ('Pai Natal') is believed to bring presents to children on Christmas Eve, rather than Christmas Day. The presents are left under the Christmas Tree or in shoes by the fireplace.

Christmas in South Africa

Because South Africa is in the Southern Hemisphere, Christmas comes in the summer. So there's lots of sun and beautiful flowers in full bloom.

Christmas in Spain

Most people in Spain go to Midnight Mass or 'La Misa Del Gallo' (The Mass of the Rooster). It is called this because a rooster is supposed to have crowed the night that Jesus was born.

Christmas in the United Kingdom

In the UK (or Great Britain), families often celebrate Christmas together, so they can watch each other open their presents!

Christmas in the United States of America

The United States of America has many different traditions and ways that people celebrate Christmas.

The British election....a cautionary tale....

...for American liberals. Behind Boris' mandate victory lies a philosophy of belief in ourselves, beginning with the Founding Fathers (no girlies need apply), and extending to Ronaldo Magnus, and now our MAGA Brilliant President Trump. Anathema to the racist political pandering pols of all but the most justified and temporary welfare/dole handouts, it's a core life philosophy for folks who are really honest about such beliefs. Indeed, voters in the English former industrial north, now increasingly with cities resembling our own democrat ruled failed metropolises, were a big force in this election of a conservative---they had voted left for generations up until now. Oye como va, o mis campesinos. Rising crime, government over-regulation, PC, vanishing middle and lower class jobs, food pantries, homeless shelters, runaway inflation, decreasing adjusted incomes, porous borders making it all worse,-----anyone seen any of the same here, at least until the last 3 years? So now this British conservative mandate is also a mandate for a quick Brexit, finally honoring the will of the voters there. If you wonder why the distaste for capricious rule by unelected ueber lib bureaucrats in Brussels, and what the liberals here have always planned for the USA, try to spend a few leisurely afternoons sauntering about in Chicago, or LA. Just be sure to be carrying a pair of Glock nines, and extra clips.

A Christmas Wish

I have written on nine Christmas cards the words, “Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year”. The cards will be distributed to their designated recipients in due course. But what will those recipients make of the words I have written with hardly a thought to their meaning?

Will they see them as an instruction? Will they think I am ordering them to have a merry Christmas and a happy New Year? If so, I wonder to what extend they will feel obliged to do as they are told.

Perhaps they will interpret the words merely as a wish on my part for them to have a merry Christmas and a happy New Year. In which case I wonder if they will feel a sense of anxiety that they might let me down by not having a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

Maybe they will open the cards and read the words as thoughtlessly as I wrote them. I hope that is what they will do; I would hate to send my loved ones into a state of turmoil over a few meaningless words.

No longer enough fingers.....

...to keep track of the many long overdue and important, VERY important, kept campaign promisses by our Brilliant President Trump. Must we now begin using all ten toes, and eventually, trend continuing, Bravo's long black claws for the counts? But I digress. The aptly named, US (numero uno), Mexico, Canada (Loonie, ooouuut, Eh?) agreement, updating and greatly upgrading the previous NAFTA disasters for US factory workers, first hoisted on them by the likes of disbarred liar cigar plunging Clinton and affirmative action life long free ride nearly illiterate POTUS Hussein O (57 states, and they speak Austrian in Oesterreich). Even the lefties in Congress are on board, with our Illustrious and divine President, so it's as bi partisan as the front and back sides of my pubic/posterior nether regions, oh you wanton CS dolls. He and colleagues finally got the caballerros grandes to agree to a much higher wage for the workers in the proto narco state, and get this, even to allow inspectors into the factories. In one swipe improving the lives of workers on both sides of the daily more secure formerly democrat porous frontera. And lots more. Hey, how about those unemployment and interest rates? All merely from the policies of the affirmative action, do little POTUS, ---spin no doubt to follow, in line with TD-HDS. Can't make this stuff up, peebles.

MAGA => MAGUA - 'Make America Goof Up Again'

I did listen to the Judiciary Committee's 2nd impeachment hearing, and all that nonsense. It was an tiresome ordeal.
A waste of time - which is exactly the intention of many.

Obscurantism is the gospel of the Deplorables, and they seem like winning. Another victory for the puppet master Putin
and his friends. The Republic party, the useful idiots, seem to believe they are smart, while they march to the piper's flute.

In fact, it is possible to understand the admiration people have for Trump. He is obviously a genius. The art of the deal, is
to have everybody dumbed down and confused enough to accept his ploy.

Putin couldn't wish for a better agent. Technology centers around the world, full of scientific experts in propaganda, computer science, AI, psychology, internet, etc. They have hacked into all communication highways, and have interfered in political processes all over the world. They are experts and they have really succeeded in recruiting the Republican party and the Trump voters.
They and everyone else can study the results in real-time over the internet. It is like playing a computer game.

United States has become a worthless partner for most. You cannot trust their word. So, what become of the security assurance they signed regarding Ukraine in the Budapest Memorandum ?

It is very telling how nobody even mention it anymore. Instead people are lead to believe that Trump is just concerned and looking after how American taxpayer dollars, and how it is unfair that Europe doesn't do more, etc.

Trump and the GOP is treason of everything United States have stood for. After a deal with Erdogan and their meeting in the White House, he withdraw troops from Syria.

United States abandoned it's obligations to Ukraine. Now Putin wants to pressure for changes in the constitution of Ukraine. At the same time, Trump and Russia's Lavrov will meet at the White House.

People need to wake up !

It is really treason, high crimes and misdemeanors - Why are everyone so blind and stupid ?
He is wrecking and breaking up everything. It is just unbelievable. Unbelievable.

DEPLORABLES OF THE WORLD! UNITE!!

"'Basket Of Deplorables'...
is a phrase from a 2016 presidential election campaign speech delivered by Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton on September 9, 2016, at a campaign fundraising event, which she used to describe half of the supporters of her opponent, Republican nominee Donald J. Trump. The next day she expressed regret for 'saying half', while insisting that Trump had deplorably amplified 'hateful views and voices'.

"The Trump campaign repeatedly used the phrase against Clinton during and after the 2016 presidential election. Many Trump supporters adopted the 'Deplorable' moniker for themselves in reappropriation. Some journalists and political analysts questioned whether this incident played a role in the election's outcome. Clinton admitted in her 2017 book What Happened that it was one of the factors for her loss."

As noted in the definition, Deplorables have embraced the name much as American Colonists embraced the derisive term Yankee Doodle, by which they were referred to by the British.

So.
Who ARE the Deplorables? I very recently came across a vid in which Deplorables define themselves and their movement, which I've dubbed Deplorablism*.

Here, then, is what might be called The Deplorable Manifesto ...

The Manifesto is not limited to U.S. Deplorables. It traces the history of the movement to Britain & the Brexit movement - well before Clinton's use of the defining term.

Leftist film maker Michael Moore (NO Trump supporter) defined Deplorables similarly in his documentary Michael Moore In TrumpLand, released prior to the '16 Election ...

Since Brexit & the U.S. '16 Election, "Deplorables" has been loosely adopted by individuals, groups & movements in various parts of the world.

The movement has its anthem ...

... including a French version ...

... in which, BTW, the soloist totally kills it.

The anthem might be analogous to that of International Communism - "The Internationale" ("L'Internationale") ...

Should Deplorablism bring about significant changes in the world, Clinton's disdainful "Basket Of Deplorables" remark may be regarded in history as infamously as Marie Antoinette's advice, "Let Them Eat Cake".

*Deplorablism - I recently used the term in a blog comment post. I later became curious if it was an actual word & searched it typing
NOTHING came. Zip. Zilch. Nada!
T'would appear I've coined a new word.
