Q:Does Connecting Singles share/sell my email address?
Answer
No, we NEVER share your email address. We NEVER send spam!
We use your email address to notify you when you receive messages/flowers on the site, and occasionally send match information.
If you are receiving spam in your email, consider the following:
- Did you include your email address in the narrative text on your profile or forums posts here or on another site? (against site rules). If so, your email address may be picked up and placed on email lists and you will subject yourself to loads of spam!
- Did you give your email address out to someone you didn't know online? Unfortunately, some people use online dating sites, to build email lists. These people will pressure you for your email address early on, and won't be interested in communicating through the site at all. They will make excuses for not communicating on the site (like using the photo excuse: saying they can't upload a photo to this site and wanting your email address to send you a photo). If you DO NOT give your email address, they will move on to the next target. If you DO give your email address, they will likely not answer or they will insist they didn't receive it and ask you for another email address (then they'll have 2 for their list).
- Think about the other places you have entered your email address on or offline...where you may have been added to an email list

Q:How do I post images in my Blog?
Answer
There are two ways to post images on your blog. If the image is located on the web, you can link to it, and if not, you can upload it to CS.
- If the image is on another website: find the image you want on another website, then right click on the image and copy the url where it says "Address (URL)", then post the url of the image into your blog between [img][/img] tags.
For example: [img]http://www.connectingsingles.com/i/free_online_dating.jpg[/img]
- upload the image to CS: Click on Blogs in the top nav, then click on My Blogs, then click on Upload Blog Photos. Upload the photo(s) you want to include in your blog, then copy the code in the column next to the image that says "Image Code" and paste that into your blog.

Q:Why can't I send more than one eCard to a person in a day?
Answer
You can send 1 eCard within a 24 hour period to EACH member. So that a member cannot receive more than 1 eCard from you in a 24-hour period.
The reason for this limit is that many members don't want their eCardbox flooded... even by someone they are interested in. Quality wins over quantity there.
eCards are for 'special' connections and occasions. Use mail for general correspondence.

Q:I am not getting responses to the mail I sent. My mail is not being opened. What is wrong?
Answer
First, Please check your
Block Settings to see if you have restricted them too much. We've been seeing that many people are blocking all ages except for a very small few (like 34-35 for example). That can really restrict who can write to you.
We notify members when they receive onsite mail. If they have provided a valid email address, they will receive those notices; if not, they won't get the notices and it may be longer until they return to the site and see what you have sent. It is their choice to login and check their mail, and it is their choice whether or not to open or respond. We have no control over any of this.
If you are not willing to wait for a response, send mail only to members whose last activity date is recent.
If a member does not open or respond to your mail, they may not have time to answer, they may be receiving too much mail already, they may be corresponding with someone special already, or they may just not be interested in your profile. Find someone else to write to...
It takes a lot of time and patience to find someone special. Don't give up. There is someone out there for you. That person may join tomorrow.
In the meantime, give members a reason to write to you. Help others get to know you. Add positive, upbeat info to your narratives about yourself, describe more about what you are seeking in your match, add some new photos, fill out the extended profile. Also, check out the
Forums area of the site. Many members have a lot of fun meeting and talking there while waiting to meet ‘the one’.
Add a blog about your thoughts or experiences to let others know more about you and possibly attract someone who feels the same (note that a blog is a journal - not a personal ad).
Use site features to bring more attention to your profile and mail to your inbox.

Q:I received an email/flower from someone who is not on my "Who's Viewed Me List"...How is this possible?
Answer
This can mean several things:
- That member may have their "Who's Viewed Me" list turned off, so their view to your profile was not recorded
- You may have "Who's Viewed Me" turned off, so that views to your profile are not being recorded
- The member clicked on the Email/Flower button from a search results page without viewing your full profile.

Q:Why has no one viewed my profile?
Answer
There can be several reasons:
- Your profile is hidden or not approved yet
- You recently joined, so no one has had the chance to view your profile yet
- You don't have a photo and so you aren't appearing on very many search results. Most members search by photo-only.
- You have just turned this feature on after having it off for a while. While it was off, views to your profile were not being recorded.
- Your views were automatically deleted by our system after 70 days, and you haven't been checking them.

Q:What is the difference between an article and a blog?
Answer
Article: An article is a nonfictional composition on a specific topic (stated in the title) about something you have experience or expertise in, or that you have researched.
It's presented in an unbiased manner and strives to prove or accomplish its theme. If an opinion is given, it should be based on knowledge. An article has a lesson or point to make and a conclusion. It's goal is to inform and/or entertain. An article is more formal than a blog, and is normally a minimum of 250 words in length. Feedback comments are accepted.
Blog: A blog entry can be whatever you want it to be... it's a personal journal of rants and raves, your opinions or ideas on any topic, or it could be just a note about your day. A blog post is an opinion, therefore biased, can be of any length, and research is not required. it's less formal than an article. Comments are accepted.
Forum Post: If you want to have a group discussion with many members on any topic of general interest, post it in the CS Forum.
