Your profile may have been deleted for one of the following reasons:
- You were inactive for a long period of time
- You submitted an invalid email address or other invalid information
- You do not reside within membership area - if your location is not on list, you may not join.
- You used a proxy to access the site.
- You mass-mailed cut/paste messages.
- You did not complete your profile
- You entered gibberish in narratives
- You entered photos that are not appropriate for the site
- You entered narrative text that is not appropriate for the site
- You used the site for soliciting or advertising, posting a URL.
- You posted inappropriate or offensive content to the forums.
- We received complaints about your profile or your behavior on the site.
- You entered more than one profile. You already have a profile here
- You are not single.
- You are under 18 (or at least your photo looks that way).
We do not notify you if your profile is deleted.

Q:Why is my profile NOT approved yet? Is something wrong?

Profiles submitted are checked by the system and normally approved shortly after registration. Approval may be delayed if your profile requires manual attention due to your profile info not being complete or accurate. If your location, email address or profile info is not valid, if you enter gibberish, URLs or email addresses in your narratives, or if you use a proxy to access the site, your profile will be put on hold.
We believe that good relationships are built on honesty. If you register false information, your profile will not be approved, or it will be deleted without notice when found or reported.
Heavy staff workload may also cause profile approval delays.

Answer
The best way to handle unwanted mail, is to Block the member that you do not want to communicate with.
The only way you can block someone, is if they send you an Email or an eCard. Otherwise there is no reason to preemptively block them and fill up your Blocked List.
To Block someone that has sent you an Email or eCard:
When you are viewing a Mail or eCard they sent you, click on the " Block this Member" button
in the right sidebar.
at the bottom of the page.
The next time they try to write to you, they will get a message saying they have been blocked - so they will know you don’t appreciate what they have previously sent.
If the member has displayed bad manners or bad taste, the Block feature is the best solution. However, you should report anyone who you suspect of scam or illegal activity to: Report Abuse.

Modeling Scam
Scammer tells you that you've been selected to be on a billboard or commercial, but needs all your personal information. (they just want your personal information, that is all)
Nanny Scam
Scammer wants to hire you to be their nanny and will pay you well. They find young women outside their country and will pay to fly them to their home. This may be a way to get your personal info, or if they do fly you there, they have other things in mind.
Sick Relative
Scammer has a sick relative that needs medical attention, and needs you to send money for the medical care. They say they will pay you back, but once you send the money, you'll never hear from them again.
One Ring Scam
Scammer gets you to call him, then keeps you on the phone for a long time, meanwhile you are racking up huge fees for the phone call. This scam is common in the Caribbean, especially Jamaica and Bermuda.
These types of scammers will leave their phone number on their profile, hoping you will call and rack up huge fees.
It's called One Ring Scam, because often the Scammer calls you on the phone from a number you don't recognize, letting it ring one time. You see it on your caller ID and call it back. The person who answers asks you to hold on, and while you are holding it racks up huge fees for the phone call.

- Old mail (over 30 days old) is removed from time to time to save on site resources.
- The sender may cancel and leave the site.
- The sender may have been removed from the site by staff. (as a result of complaints received about the member, or the member using the site for purposes other than dating: mass mailing, soliciting, requesting money from other members, etc. When a member gets banned, their mail automatically disappears.)

Asks for your Email Address right away
Scammers often ask for your email address right away, or give you theirs. They want to communicate off site as soon as possible. Beware they may be building email lists.
Hard Luck Story
The member has a hard luck story, they make you feel sorry for them, and they ask for help or money, or get you to offer it because you are 'such a nice person'.
Offers you money
The member offers you money. They will do this to gain your trust. They will send counterfeit cashiers checks which will eventually bounce at your bank and get you into trouble.
Travels A lot
The member is from your country but travels for their job (working an oil rig, buying antiques, etc.). They have lost their ID and money and have been arrested or injured and urgently need money to get back home.
From Africa
The member is from Africa (especially West Africa, Lagos, Senegal, Ghana, Cote d'Ivoire). There are large banks of computers with people paid to sit at the computer all day and scam innocent hard working people. It is a $100 million dollar business!! Africa is not within the Connecting Singles membership area, but sometimes they slip through registration.
From Russia/Ukraine
The member is from Russia or Ukraine. There are agencies who enter large numbers of fake profiles on dating sites. They use good looking pictures of women to scam lovesick men into sending them money to come to their country or to help them with their personal or family problems. The scam could also include credit card fraud, excessive charges to an affiliated travel company, etc. The photo is a fake and is not the person you are writing to. The girls are not real and you will never see the person you are writing to. Russia and Ukraine etc. are not within the Connecting Singles membership area, but sometimes they slip through registration.
Broken English
The member speaks or writes in very broken English. A lot of scammers will run their profiles through automated translators, and their profiles and emails will sound very strange.
Here is an example:
"I rather nice girl. At me brown eyes, light hair. My growth of 170 centimeters. I like to carry sexual frank linen of a house. As I very strictly look at work. I like to vary. I can be strict, impudent as I can be very gentle and tender. I view your structure on this site and find it good"
NOTE: Many scammers copy their profiles from other real profiles so they will sound perfect. They use model photos or photos sent to them by past victims. But their emails to you might still give it away.
Gives First and Last Name
Scammers give you a lot of personal information right away making you comfortable and willing to share your own personal info with them. They will often make up a first and last name and put it in their profile, to make you feel safe. They will often use common names like "Greg Williams" or "Jane Smith" or "Kenneth Cole". If someone puts their first name and last name in a profile, it is probably a scammer!
Here's an example (taken from a profile out of Nigeria):
"I am Henry Elvis from Takoma Park, Maryland, USA. I am really from Mahe-Victoria, Seychelles. I am Graduade of Anglia Polytechnic University, Essex,UK and also a Diploma Holder in Graphics Design from Brooks College, Utah,USA. I am cool and Handsome, Nice to be with and I like Travelling, Swimming and Playing Football and at the same time like surfing Internet and Programming, as part of my Job."
Wants to go offsite with you right away
Scammers wants you to leave the site to use personal email or IM because “it's so much easier” – may actually state they will not accept responses through this dating site.
Mail is poetic and generic
Mail to you is often poetic, sing-songy, pretty words with no meaning, general flattery, generic, does not directly address questions or concerns you have voiced or remarks you have made, uses a lot of seductive or pet nicknames for you instead of your name. They keep things general so they can send the same letter to many people (mass mail).
Sends URL
Scammer gives you the name of another website and asks you to meet them there (ask yourself why when you are both here on a free site) or they will invite you to view them on a webcam or porn site. Be aware that some of these sites are setup only to gather personal info. You may be asked to enter your email address, credit card information or other personal info. You may end up with spyware or a virus on your computer.

This site has rules to protect members and their experience here. Knowing, accepting and following the rules is required for membership. It is not site staff's responsibility to warn you when you break them.

Large photos take a long time to upload. They may time out. If you have trouble uploading or emailing your photo, the photo file is probably too large or it was not in the right file format (must be .jpg format).
If possible, reduce the size or resolution of your photos and try them again. Photos must be in a .jpg format. 300-600 pixels in width is best.
Send your photos to us by Email or Snail Mail:

Then type in your Message.

Your message will be sent to the member’s Onsite Inbox. And a copy of your message will go to your Outbox.
Or... this if for members you know their username, or they are on your Favorites List or Who's Viewed Me List:
Go to your Mail Inbox, and click on the Compose New Message button at the top right of the page.
Then type in the user's Username exactly. And press the "Go to Next Step" button.
In case you do not know their username, your Favorites List will be loaded at the bottom of the page. (You can click the tab that says "Viewed" to load your "Who's Viewed Me List" instead.)
Click on a user in your Favorites List at the bottom of the page.
Then type in your Message.
Click the "Send Message" button at the bottom of the page.

Q:Why did my photo get deleted (or get moved from being primary)?

Photos are an option, not a requirement. If you wish to have a photo with your profile, upload photos according to the rules. Photos that break the rules or are not appropriate for this site are deleted.
Remember, a picture is worth a thousand words. Your photo represents you to members who don't know you and, like it or not, you will be judged by what you choose to display. So think about what your photos 'say' about you.
PHOTO RULES:
- Your PRIMARY photo must be of YOU and show YOUR face clearly.
- Photos of celebrities, cartoons, bare torsos will be deleted.
- Nudity, vulgar, offensive, inappropiate photos will get your account deleted. Don't make us do it!
- Do NOT include CHILDREN for SAFETY reasons.
- Must reflect your true appearance.
- Must match your stated gender.
- No celebrities, models, copyrighted or altered images, cartoons, or drawings.
- No special effects or frames.
- No nudity, obscenity, sexual or offensive photos, display of weapons, or illegal activity.
- No photos in which you are, or appear to be under age 18 years.
- Tiny photos do not post well and will be deleted.
- Dark, blurry or poor quality photos will not be posted.
- Must be in .jpg format, no larger than 5 MB (megabytes).
We also accept these formats, but .jpg works best:

Choices you make on this page will determine and limit who can contact you. Members who are filtered out by the settings you choose, will NOT be able to contact you.

Q:Someone I was chatting with, now it says they are hidden. What does this mean?
Answer
People on the site can hide their profile at anytime. When this happens, you will not be able to see them anywhere on the site.
If they are in your inbox, their photo will say "hidden" on it. And you will no longer be able to write to them.

Profiles on the site need to reflect decency and good taste. ConnectingSingles.com will not display any content or photos that may be offensive, objectionable, or threatening to other members.
Photo Rules - Read & Observe
- Your PRIMARY photo must be of YOU and show YOUR face clearly.
- Photos of celebrities, cartoons, bare torsos will be deleted.
- Nudity, vulgar, offensive, inappropiate photos will get your account deleted. Don't make us do it!
- Do NOT include CHILDREN for SAFETY reasons.
- Must reflect your true appearance.
- Must match your stated gender.
- No celebrities, models, copyrighted or altered images, cartoons, or drawings.
- No special effects or frames.
- No nudity, obscenity, sexual or offensive photos, display of weapons, or illegal activity.
- No photos in which you are, or appear to be under age 18 years.
- Tiny photos do not post well and will be deleted.
- Dark, blurry or poor quality photos will not be posted.
- Must be in .jpg format, no larger than 5 MB (megabytes).
We also accept these formats, but .jpg works best:

Q:What happens when I Block someone?
Answer
When you block someone, they will no longer be able to send you Mails and eCards. If they try to send you a Message or eCard they will get a sign that they have been blocked – so they will know you don’t appreciate what they have previously sent.
The Mail and eCards they previously sent you will still remain, but you can delete them if you want.
They can still view your profile and send you a "Like". But each member can only send ONE Like, so they can only do this once.

In the top nav bar, click on the "Profile"
dropdown. It will expand.
Click on the ( Menu) icon on the top right corner of the page. The menu will expand.
Then click on the dropdown that says "My Profile". It will expand.
Then click on Edit Settings in the list of links.
Then click on the Edit Location link, fill in your information, and click the "Save Changes" button at the bottom of the page.

Q:How can I remove something I posted to the forums?
Answer
Consider what you post to be permanent. We don't allow posts to be deleted or changed because it may change the meaning of what others have said and disrupt the flow of the discussion.
Your forum entries help members learn about you. Your answers and attitudes there tell a lot about you. Consider this before you enter posts, as they cannot be removed.

Q:Someone I was talking to disappeared from the site. Where are they?
Answer
There are several reasons why a member might disappear from the site:
- The member has been removed from the site by staff (as a result of complaints received about the member, or the member using the site for purposes other than dating: mass mailing, soliciting, requesting money from members, etc.)
- The member has hidden their profile
- The member has cancelled their profile
- If you are trying to find them via a username search, you may have misspelled their username.

You can't send mail to other members until your profile has been approved. You may start using all the features of the site as soon as your profile is approved.

Q:How do I play a Game?
Answer
In the top nav bar, click on the Games link.
Click on the ( Menu) icon on the top right corner of the page. The menu will expand.
Then click on the dropdown that says " Forums / Blogs / Polls / Poems / Videos / etc.". It will expand.
Then click on the dropdown that says "More". It will expand.
Then click on Games in the list of links.
You will see a list of Games.
Click on the photo of the Game you want to play, and the Game will load and you can play it.
To play full screen mode:
Click the fullscreen icon that is directly under the Game (in the lower right corner)
