Genesis chapter 1, verse 26.

And God said, let us make man in our image etc.
Question; Who's 'US'?
And who created the 'DEVIL' then?

It's a question I have asked many times when confronted with either, JWs or Mormons, who have knocked on my door over the years and have never received an explanation that was convincing from them.

Just asking grin

One more for the Family Tree!!

One of my Granddaughters gave birth to a baby girl last week, I can't believe I'm a Great Grandparent at my age. I feel blessed really as I hardly knew my Grandparents.
Anyone else here had this experience and do you feel old? grin

Despondent.

Do you know what I find difficult to do? You send someone a message trying to explain your sincerity and that you ARE a genuine article but still I get the impression that they don't trust you or even give you the benefit of the doubt and reply.
What's the point of being on this site if you're going to mistrust every man just because of a few 'Nasty's'. I feel that it's a hopeless cause, trying to make contact with someone if they won't at least give you a chance.
Anyone else have this predicament?

If you have dogs or cats then please read this...

Hundreds of dogs and cats die from rock salt scattered by gritters in big freeze

Animals walk through the substances left by gritters and then lick them off their paws. Consuming rock salt can cause dehydration, liver failure and pancreatitis.

Manchester shooting tragedy!!!

All I hear is 'Should the Police be armed all the time' in light of this tragedy in Manchester. Surely the question should be 'When will they bring back the 'DEATH Penalty' for these cowards?'. I say cowards because rather than take the risk of being hunted down and shot, as he certainly deserved to be', he handed himself in to the Police and avoided being killed, IMO.

Saw this on FB, thought I'd share it with you!!

Every now and then, in the middle of the constant barrage of crap that’s just pissing us all off these days, we come across a story, a feat, an event that just makes us stop in our tracks. This was one for me.

Cody Green was a 12-year kid in Indiana who was diagnosed with leukemia at 22 months old. He loved the Marines, and his parents said he drew strength and courage from the Marine Corps. as he bravely fought the battle into remission three times. Although he was cancer-free at the time, the chemotherapy had lowered his immune system and he developed a fungus infection that attacked his brain. Two weeks ago, as he struggled to fend off that infection in the hospital, the Marines wanted to show how much they respected his will to live, his strength, honor and courage. They presented Cody with Marine navigator wings and named him an honorary member of the United States Marine Corps. For one Marine, that wasn’t enough ... so that night, before Cody Green passed away, he took it upon himself to stand guard at Cody’s hospital door all night long, 8 hours straight.

Nowhere on the face of this planet is there a country so blessed as we to have men and women such as this. I wish I could personally tell this Marine how proud he makes me to be an American. God ... I do so love this country.

What a load of.................

If that 'closing ceremony' was supposed to show the world 50 years of British music, well it was pathetic.
Where were the 'Teds, mods and rockers(ok there were a few 'scooters' but none of the 60s music that went with them) and the punks with their colourful hair doos etc?
All we saw were a couple of old 'uns and present day 'noise'. The woman at the begining was a joke as was the 'fat bloke' moaning away while the athletes entered the arena.
The special effects were brilliant but the fireworks were a bit of a let down.
All the above is just my opinion of course and not a repesentation of the whole of the British people!!

Just a matter of priorities ?

I'm sure £5,000,000($7,000,000) could have been better spent on protecting our boys and girls that are being killed for what?instead of wasting it on a seamingly pointless act of interference, again, in someone else's internal disputes!! IMO

Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda

READ THIS VERY SLOWLY... IT'S PRETTY PROFOUND.

Too many people put off something that brings them joy just because they haven't thought about it, don't have it on their schedule, didn't know it was coming or are too rigid to depart from their routine.

I got to thinking one day about all those people on the Titanic who passed up dessert at dinner that fateful night in an effort to cut back. From then on, I've tried to be a little more flexible.

How many women out there will eat at home because their husband didn't suggest going out to dinner until after something had been thawed? Does the word 'refrigeration' mean nothing to you?

How often have your kids dropped in to talk and sat in silence while you watched ' Jeopardy ' on television?

I cannot count the times I called my sister and said , 'How about going to lunch in a half hour?' She would gas up and stammer, 'I can't. I have clothes on the line. My hair is dirty. I wish I had known yesterday, I had a late breakfast, It looks like rain' And my personal favorite: 'It's Monday.' She died a few days ago. We never did have lunch together.

Because we cram so much into our lives, we tend to schedule our headaches.. We live on a sparse diet of promises we make to ourselves when all the conditions are perfect!

We'll go back and visit the grandparents when we get Steve toilet-trained. We'll entertain when we replace the living-room carpet. We'll go on a second honeymoon when we get two more kids out of college.

Life has a way of accelerating as we get older. The days get shorter, and the list of promises to ourselves gets longer. One morning, we awaken, and all we have to show for our lives is a litany of 'I'm going to,' 'I plan on,' and 'Someday, when things are settled down a bit.'

When anyone calls my 'seize the moment' friend, she is open to adventure and available for trips. She keeps an open mind on new ideas. Her enthusiasm for life is contagious. You talk with her for five minutes, and you're ready to trade your bad feet for a pair of Rollerblades and skip an elevator for a bungee cord.

My lips have not touched ice cream in 10 years. I love ice cream. It's just that I might as well apply it directly to my stomach with a spatula and eliminate the digestive process. The other day, I stopped the car and bought a triple-decker. If my car had hit an iceberg on the way home, I would have died happy.

Now....go on and have a nice day. Do something you WANT to...not something on your SHOULD DO list. If you were going to die soon and had only one phone call you could make, who would you call and what would you say? And why are you waiting? I had a friend from high school that I was always going to call and never did. The other day her name was in the obituaries so we never had that chat.

Make sure you read this to the end; you will understand why I posted it.

Have you ever watched kids playing on a merry go round or listened to the rain lapping on the ground? Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight or gazed at the sun into the fading night? Do you run through each day on the fly? When you ask, 'How are you?' Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done, do you lie in your bed with the next hundred chores running through your head? Ever told your child, 'We'll do it tomorrow.' and in your haste, not see his sorrow? Ever lost touch? Let a good friendship die? Just call to say 'Hi'?

When you worry and hurry through your day, it is like an unopened gift....Thrown away.... Life is not a race. Take it slower. Hear the music before the song is over.

‘Life may not be the party we hoped for... but while we are here we might as well dance!’

Summer time 'Snacks'?

As it's a tad nippy and DAMP here so I decided to have one of those little 'snacks' we used to have as kids;
A hot mug of 'OXO' with a slice of bread broken up in it, in fact I've had two. Mind you when my girls were growing up and because we were so 'POOR', we used to have this as our 'Sunday dinner' :-(
What 'snacks' can you remember having as kids?

cheers
