My first real fishing expedition . . .

I really didn't think I would get this far in the process, but thanks to the inspiration and motivation from previous blogs, this is proving to be quite an interesting venture.

I'm just waiting to see how long it will take before he realises that I am onto him grin

After all it took him all of 12 hours to phone me (of course, he is ACTUALLY from the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA but he is currently an engineer in the gold fields of ghana, cannot skype me, because he can't pick it up there. But don't despair, he is finishing his contract on 1st June, and will leave to return to empty arms in NEW YORK, AS SOON AS HE HAS RECEIVED HIS COMPENSATION . . . )cheers
And ME????? I will be the lucky one to become his WIFE once I have helped him to invest his $25mil in car sales in sadancing

NOW WHAT ! ! !

So you have been sitting on the singles site for ages, desperately hoping to find someone interesting enough while at the same time, (of course) a total dream, potentially good in bed, close enough for regular dates, a good sense of humour, sensitive . . .essentially . . . a DREAM BOAT happy place(I'm not sure they existdunno but whatever!!!)

Everything is running great online, you've been chatting in private, maybe even on skype, but now it's crunch time . . . now you get to meet, face to face. Both of you are sceptical because of all the scammers out there and want to know that you are in fact dealing with a REAL person . . . so you arrange (da da da daaa) the REAL DATE . . . cheering violin

You been gearing up to the great moment, counted down the days on the calender, spoken about this FANTASTIC person batting you're going to meet, Started planning your wedding and the great future you will have together . . .and then on the morning the auspicious date, you wake up to discover . . .

There are at LEAST ten midgets hamering around in your head,
Someone opened the water works in you nostrils,
Your eyes could do with a pound of raw steak to reduce the swelling,
You sound like something from the sequel to Star Trek,
and to crown it all,
Someone plastered a doughnut on your dose during da nightholewow

And at this stage the great dilemma is upon you:
Do you :
A:......Call up your date and try to postphone, at the risk of being labelled a scammer ? ? ? foot in mouth

B:......Just not pitch for the date, and then mail him/her with details of some or other disaster which struck ? ? ?blah blah blah

C:......Do a MAJOR disaster relief operation, dope yourself up with any and all meds you can lay your hands on, and go anyway in the hopes that the wonder-man(woman) won't notice, and still think you're cute rollers

The options are very limited in SA, but I want opinions on what you have experienced, personally or via friends on the different models.... just some basic feed back.

If you are an enthusiast, your input will be appreciated . . . conversing

Blog Spin-off . . . ..

This blog was inspired by Danielangelvega . . . (nice blog)

I thought it would be interesting to determine how low down on the list of additional languages, English is for some of our bloggers especially, but also for our silent background cheering squad.

It might even help us(HL) to be more tolerant of less than perfect spelling and sentence structuredunno

So . . . just for interest sake, list your Home language (HL), followed by any additional language(AL) in the order of fluency/most commonly used.

Here's mine:
HL - English (Fluent)
AL1 - Afrikaans (Fluent)
AL2 - French (Very basic)

Here's to youcheering peace teddybear

Proved it once again ! ! ! !

We constantly complain about how boring the blogs are (yet we keep returning to it)

We complain about how there aren't any real men or women out here

We complain about the lack of emotion and love and compassion from those around us

We complain about anything we can think of . . .

YET

Without knowing the facts, there is a consistent rally to the support of anyone who indicates a need of support.
This comes from people who don't know each other based on the fact that they haven't YET met . . .

If this is not a perfect demonstration of love and compassion which transcends all boundaries set by man . . .
then I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS . . . .

Fellow CS Bloggers

I SALUTE YOU ALL

Balancing the scales . . .

Life has an amazing knack of balancing the scales . . .
sometimes we think things are sooo bad and then suddenly something happens which brings a smile. The converse could also be true.

We had a death in our family a week ago.
That in itself was heartbreaking for all of us, but there was also great good which came from it, and I suspect that some more will come from it too.

It's not always easy to acknowledge the good within a difficult situation, but for some reason, when I look, there always seems to be one . . . and I am eternally grateful for that.
