"The Old Church And The New Church" (Part 1)

Embedded image from another site

"Thou dost provoke her (The Old Church) to jealousy by thy good works."

By David Berg, 8-26-69

THESE ARE THEY THAT LOVE ME. For who is My mother and who are My brethren and who are My sisters? They that do the will of My Father. (Matthew 12:50 KJV)

NOT THEY THAT WEAR THE GARMENTS OF THE RELATIVES and who bear relationship in name only, but love Me not, neither obey Me, nor honor Me but honor themselves and obey themselves and follow their own way and lift themselves on high and brag of their relationship with Me in name only.

FOR THEY DO NOT THE THINGS THAT I ASK and they know Me not, and they lie not with me in the bed of love, neither do they wait upon Me continually in the things that I ask, neither do they look up unto Me to be guided with Mine eye, My wish their command, as doth this one.

THEY CLAIM TO BE MINE--My wife--My Church--but the relationship is in name only. There is no other relationship. They have no other communion. They have no other intercourse and they bear no children. Therefore is this hypocrisy and not a marriage. This is pretense and not love.

THIS IS SACRIFICE AND NOT OBEDIENCE. This is the fat of rams and not hearkening. And it is unto Me as witchcraft and idolatry and their temples are as the temples of men and of devils--an abomination unto Me, and their offerings are as a stench in My nostrils and their holy days do horrify Me. And their children do sicken Me and their luxury doth cause Me to abhor them and their beauty is a reproach unto Me and I shall utterly cast them out and destroy their palaces and strip them of all these things until they shall beg unto Me for mercy. And if they shall cry unto Me, even these should call unto Me and upon My name in repentance and in turning, I would yet forgive, but I could not save their system.

I CANNOT BEAR THEIR ABOMINATIONS, but I would pluck them as one from the dung heap and as her that hath been cast aside, as I did in her infancy before she became proud against Me. For whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved. Return, therefore, unto Me, O thou backsliding daughter, lest I return unto thee in My fury and pluck thee out of thy place, for I will have mercy upon whom I will have mercy and I will have mercy, not sacrifice, for she hath not had mercy. She hath cast forth My children, and her that was dear unto Me and she hath beaten My prophets. She hath harmed Mine anointed.

THEREFORE SHALL I BEAT AND HARM HER IN GREAT WRATH and in great fury in the hour when her cup of iniquity shall be full, but I shall spare these that she hath beaten and protect these that she hath harmed and bring them through as by fire and they shall glorify Me and they shall enter in to the Marriage Feast of My Beloved. For I rejoice in her, delight in her--this, My New Bride, who hath oiled her lamps burning brightly and who doth lighten this world in this last dark hour.

THEREFORE, SHALL THEY SAY unto thee, "Whence cometh this one? And who is she and wherefore dost thou love her and why is this one in thy house?" and I shall say unto them, "This is the Bride of Mine affliction. This is the darling of My Tribulation." This is the one that doth suffer for Me. The one that endured unto the end in the hour of greatest need and gave her life for Me and that of her children.

SHE IT IS THAT LOVETH ME. Therefore do I delight in her and do highly honor her and do give her a place above all the maidens. And she hath gone with Me through Great Tribulation, neither hath she forsaken nor hath she deserted Me as this other whose light died out because she had no oil and who was left in darkness because she depended upon man, and who fled from Me for the fear of man.

Why Does God Allow Sin and Suffering

Embedded image from another site

Word Based Bible Discussion TFI

Many consider the fact that man is fallible and commits sin as an excuse that is not acceptable. Man could do better and be perfect, some think, if he only tried harder. According to many theorists, humans are out of control and the direct cause of their own suffering.

Does God know what He is doing? Has he lost control of his greatest creation? Has the Creator's plans been thwarted by his creation? Why do we, his greatest creation, have all the problems that we do?

So for the poor and the suffering and the starving and sick little children, for them to die is a blessing! It's the ones who are left behind that are to be pitied, the ones who don't die. But those, no doubt, God is trying to teach lessons to and prepare for the afterlife to get them ready to die--which they frequently do soon after their suffering and their sorrow.--David Berg

God knows us and appreciates our struggle. He says He will reward us for it! He wants us not only to live forever but also to have the same wonderful quality of life he possesses. He will give it to us when we overcome Satan's ways. He created man in his own image and likeness. Man's creation is a process that is not finished yet.

Where it all started.

Think about what happened in the Garden of Eden after Adam and Eve's creation. Genesis does not mention our first parents receiving a warning that Satan would try to deceive them. The Bible says that Satan was one of the most intelligent and craftiest created beings. Adam and Eve was no match for the devil. God intentionally "let the gate open" for him to enter into the garden and enticed the first couple to sin.

It was a setup.

God wanted Adam and Eve to do what they did. He placed a temptation right in front of them. Adam and Eve were set up to take to themselves the knowledge of Good and Evil. He is in the business of teaching us important lessons. He wants us to be wise as serpents but harmless as doves. (Mt.10:16 & 16:18b) However, to reach his goals, his plan is for us to learn from our mistakes first, from his adversary.

God is not as interested as some think in preventing us from being fallible. There are eternal lessons He wants us to learn. His plan is to insure that no one will ever create Satan's way again. We will know that it does not work because we will have already tried it. It is through the character built in this life, built in “hell,” that will enable us to create "heaven" for all eternity.

To be smarter and wiser than your enemy it pays to know how he thinks. It is perhaps a cliché to say that God is not finished with us yet. However, it is true. He created us and then gave us to Satan for indoctrination. (Mt.8:7-9) Then Jesus comes along to rescue us from our mutual enemy. He gave us the ability to think and think about our thinking. Once he inoculates us with His way of thinking, we can compare his thinking with the way Satan thinks.

God doesn't make mistakes.

God oversees everything that goes on in His universe. He is ultimately responsible for whatever we do, including sin. When we believe in a truly all-powerful Creator, it puts an interesting perspective on just about everything. Jesus told Pilate, who thought he alone had power to kill or release Christ,

"You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above." (John 19:11, NIV).

He knows what He is doing and his plan is on schedule. It is accomplishing the goals that He set out for it. He loves everyone. It only makes sense that the Creator of everything would love His greatest creation.

What Every Body Needs is Love!

Embedded image from another site

By David Berg

NO MATTER WHAT COUNTRY YOU'RE FROM, what religion you believe in or what colour your skin is, your heart is the same as other people's hearts all around the World!--There is no difference! Our desire and need for love and peace and happiness is made by God, and the same in everyone the World over!

WHOEVER WE ARE AND WHEREVER WE ARE FROM, the simple answer to all of our problems is the same as it has always been for every age and every generation: LOVE!--True love, real love, God's Love!

WHAT EVERYBODY NEEDS IS LOVE! This is God's answer to all the problems of today as well as to all the problems of the past!--An answer which has always been so simple and childlike that many people find it hard to believe! But this is still God's solution, even in such a confused and complicated World as we live in today!

IT'S JUST THAT SIMPLE: If we love God, if we have His Love in our hearts, we will love and care for each other. We will then follow His rules of life, liberty and happiness, and all will be well and happy as we follow Him!

FOR IT IS MAN'S REJECTION OF GOD'S LOVE AND HIS LOVING LAWS THAT CAUSES MOST OF THE EVILS AND TROUBLES IN THE WORLD TODAY! If people would love God and each other, they would not be mean and selfish! The rich wouldn't rob the poor, those with plenty wouldn't let their neighbors suffer hunger, disease or overwork without helping them, and they certainly wouldn't fight cruel wars in which they kill and wound each other!

THIS IS WHY JESUS SAID THAT THE GREATEST COMMANDMENT IS TO LOVE!--To first of all love God, and then to love your neighbor as yourself! In fact, He said that these two simple laws fulfill all the laws of God! (Matthew 22:37-39) In other words, Love fulfills all the Law!--God's only Law is Love!

OF COURSE, A LOT OF PEOPLE SAY, "OH, I DON'T BELIEVE IN GOD!" But if you were to ask them if they believe in love, they'd probably reply, "Of course I believe in love!" Well, if they can believe in love, then they can believe in God!--Because the Bible says, "God is Love!" (1John 4:8) So real love, God's Love, is all the religion you need, because God is Love, and Love is God!

GOD IS NOT ONLY LOVE, BUT JESUS ALSO SAID THAT "GOD IS A SPIRIT!" (John 4:24)--He is the Great Spirit of Love that created you and me and this beautiful World and the entire Universe! He is so big and so great that He is far beyond our human understanding! But God loved us so much that He wanted us to somehow know and love Him, so to show us His Love and to help us to understand Himself, He sent His Own Son to Earth in the form of a man, Jesus Christ.

JESUS WAS LIKE A PICTURE OF GOD, to show us what God Himself is like.--And that picture is a picture of Love, because all Jesus did was talk about love and show love and live love. Then finally, in love, He gave His life for you and me, so that we could have God's Love, forgiveness and free Gift of Eternal Life if we would just receive Him into our hearts.

SO IF YOU FEEL THAT YOU DON'T HAVE ENOUGH LOVE, MAYBE IT'S BECAUSE YOU HAVEN'T YET FOUND GOD'S LOVE BY RECEIVING HIS SON JESUS!--There is a hollowness, an empty spot that He has placed in each of our hearts that only He can fill, and that nothing else will ever truly satisfy. So if you'd like Him to fill that spot in your life, all you have to do is open your heart to Him.

TO RECEIVE GOD'S LOVE IS SO SIMPLE that Jesus said you must become as a little child to enter His spiritual Kingdom of love and joy! He said, "Unless you humble yourself and become as a little child, you shall not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven!" (Matthew 18:3)

We pray these words of love Helped you find the love you need to make you Happy!--And that others will find happiness through your love too! God bless you and make you a blessing with His Love!

The World of Tomorrow - Final

Embedded image from another site

THE PLACE WHERE ALL OF GOD'S CHILDREN ARE GOING TO LIVE WITH THE LORD FOREVER IS NOT SOME FANCY DREAMLAND WAY OFF IN OUTER SPACE SOMEWHERE, but an even more amazing Dream City that's going to come down from God, out of space, to a beautiful New Earth!--And God is going to come down and live with us, and we with Him, in that Heavenly City! (Rev.21:1-3)

HEAVEN IS REAL!--Millions and billions of God's children who have already died and gone on to be with the Lord are already enjoying this wonderful, gigantic, golden City of Love which is on its way to Earth now!

(Continued Final)

During the Millennium, His Word says that "He will destroy in this mountain (kingdom) the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations." (Is.25:7 .)--What vail?--The vail of misunderstanding, the vail of unbelief, the vail of non-comprehension of spiritual things.

In the face of the visible rule and reign of Christ on earth, His personal appearance to man, His Second Coming in mighty power and glory, His wiping out of the Antichrist and his kingdom and the imprisonment of Satan, and His obvious visible rule and reign of firm love with a rod of iron, forcing people to be good whether they like it or not, I think some are going to believe and receive who perhaps never heard before! And maybe there will be some who might even have heard, but didn't understand or couldn't believe until they saw something.

"For in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness. The meek also shall increase their joy in the Lord, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel. Behold, a King shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgement. And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it!" (Is.29:18,19; 32:1; 40:5.)

Everyone on earth will see His glorious power and kingdom, and everybody will believe then!--He even says, "And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know Me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord." (Jer.31:34.)

**
THEN JESUS and HIS RESURRECTED CHILDREN FROM ALL AGES WILL WORK TOGETHER WITH ALL OF THE PEOPLE ON EARTH who survived this horrific Battle, to rebuild a new and better World, setting up the Kingdom of God on Earth! (Rev.20:4,6) All wars will have ceased and men will "beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks and they shall learn war no more!" (Isa.2:4)

THE BIBLE SAYS THAT THIS PERIOD WILL LAST FOR 1,000 YEARS, and is therefore known as the Millennium! The Curse that came upon the Earth when man fell into sin will be removed and "one who dies at a hundred years old will be but a child"! (Isa.65:20) The Earth will be restored to the original beauty of the Garden of Eden and the "lion will lie down with the lamb and the leopard with the baby goat, and a little child shall lead them!" (Isa.11:6,7)

ARE YOU ONE OF THE SAVED WHO HAS THE BRIGHTEST and HAPPIEST FUTURE TO LOOK FORWARD TO, ruling and reigning with Jesus as one of His resurrected Flying Super-People during this wonderful time?–You could be teaching the surviving natural people of the Earth, like Grandfather and his family, the loving ways of Jesus, the King of kings!

BY SIMPLY PRAYING THIS LITTLE PRAYER YOU CAN RECEIVE JESUS and HIS WONDERFUL LOVE RIGHT NOW!: "Dear Jesus, I believe that You are the Son of God and that You died for me. Please forgive me for all my sins. I now open the door of my heart and ask You, Jesus, to please come in and give me Your free Gift of Eternal Life!–In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen."

The World of Tomorrow (Part 2)

Embedded image from another site

When the great Crystal Ball, all sparkling and blue,
Appeared in the Earth’s starry skies,
The people below who bathed in its glow
Were thrilled as they feasted their eyes!

Within the great Globe, a glorious sight
Inspired the praises of men!
–The City of Gold which lit up the night
Caused hearts to look upward again!

All the World’s squabbles, cruel warring and fights,
Were now but a thing of the past!
For Love had come down from the City of Lights,
And the Earth was at peace at last!

(Continued Pt. 2)

THE EARTH ITSELF ALSO UNDERWENT A MIRACULOUS TRANSFORMATION when the Flying-People took over: All thorns, thistles and poisonous plants suddenly quit growing and died! Barren deserts and wastelands suddenly became green and fertile! All dangerous and bothersome insects, spiders, reptiles, etc. ceased to exist!–And as we mentioned, the formerly ferocious wild beasts suddenly became calm and playful, no longer meat-eating, but vegetarian!

THE SCORCHING HEAT and FREEZING COLD TEMPERATURES THAT HAD PLAGUED MANY PARTS OF THE WORLD WERE NO MORE, and the entire Earth now enjoyed a lovely temperate climate, without any violent storms, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions or other unnatural disasters! The wind no longer wailed or made a mournful sound as it blew through the trees, but everything was now happy and joyful!–Life was wonderful and Earth was a literal Paradise!

MEN HAD LEARNED TO FARM and LIVE OFF THE LAND AGAIN! Grandfather was the Village Elder of the area where he lived and the younger farmers often came to him for advice and counsel. He was greatly respected not only because of his age and many years of experience, but also because of his wisdom in the ways of the Golden City which he had learned from the Flying-People. In fact, on one occasion, the King of the Golden City Himself honoured Grandfather by personally visiting his village and home!

THIS AMAZING LOOK INTO THE WORLD OF TOMORROW IS NOT JUST A DREAM!–For according to the Bible, one day soon the World of Tomorrow will be like this! But first, within the next few years or even months, a great One-World Government will arise, led by a cruel Devil-possessed dictator known as the Antichrist! (Dan.8:23-25) Halfway through his 7-year reign he will declare himself to be God and set up a One-World Credit System in which all members of his System will be permanently branded with his Mark and number in their hands or forehead in order to buy or sell–or die! (Rev.13)

MILLIONS WILL REFUSE TO BOW DOWN to this dictator and will flee from his anti-Christ forces! Entire nations will rebel and war against the Antichrist World Government, bringing on the most trying time of trouble and tribulation that the people of faith have ever endured. (Mat.24:15-21) But millions–maybe billions–will survive!

NEAR THE END OF THE ANTICHRIST’S REIGN, JESUS CHRIST, THE SON OF GOD, WILL RETURN "in the clouds of Heaven, with power and great glory!" (Mat.24:29-31) to rescue all of His saved children that love Him! A great resurrection will take place and all of God’s people will rise from off the surface of the Earth in powerful, new resurrected super-bodies, just like Jesus had when He rose from the dead! They will then fly away with the Lord to a great Victory Party in God’s gigantic crystal-gold Heavenly City which will be floating above the Earth! (Rev.19:6-9; 21)

WHILE GOD’S CHILDREN ARE CELEBRATING IN THE HEAVENLY CITY, THE ANTICHRIST WILL GATHER HIS ARMIES TOGETHER to try to destroy the armies of the nations that oppose him in a great battle known as "Armageddon"! It is then that the Lord and His billions of resurrected saints or "Flying-People" will come charging back down to Earth on Heavenly horses from His Heavenly City in the sky to destroy all of the worshippers of the Antichrist! (Rev.16:12-16; 19:11-21)

I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. Ecclesiastes 9:11 (KJV)

The beautiful world of the future

OLD GRANDFATHER LOVES TO WATCH THE GOLDEN CITY IN THE BIG BLUE BUBBLE RISE OVER THE MOUNTAINS! Every day he perches himself in his favorite spot right on time to watch this magnificent Globe begin its climb into the sky overhead. Today some of his family and neighbors are busy below, preparing a cottage for one of his granddaughters who is about to get married.

GRANDFATHER CAN REMEMBER WHEN THE GREAT GOLDEN CITY FIRST APPEARED IN THE SKY over 800 years ago, way back in the 1990's! Though he was just a teenager then, the memories of the Age before the City arrived are still with him. His children and grandchildren always marvel at his incredible tales and stories about how strange life was in those days!

MEN WERE CRUEL and UNKIND TO EACH OTHER THEN. Nations trained their young men to fight in horrible conflicts called wars, where millions of people were wounded and killed! People crowded together by the millions, stacked on top of each other in tall towers in huge artificial environments called cities!--Where foul polluting vehicles roared and raced through the streets and skies!

GRANDFATHER'S STORIES ABOUT HIS ESCAPE FROM THE ONE-WORLD GOVERNMENT that arose just 7 years before the Golden City arrived always amazes his listeners! The evil leader of the World Government had claimed that he was God, and had demanded that all the World worship him and be branded with his Mark. Because Grandfather's parents were devout members of another religion, they refused to worship the World leader, and therefore had to flee deep into the jungle where they hid from the World Government police for over three years!

HIS CHILDREN FIND IT HARD TO IMAGINE THE DANGERS that Grandfather and his family met in the jungle back then.--For now poisonous serpents, deadly spiders and stinging or biting insects no longer exist!--Nor have they ever seen any ferocious or dangerous lions, tigers or crocodiles.--These animals are all tame and friendly now--the pets of children!

HIS GRANDCHILDREN CAN HARDLY BELIEVE THAT BEFORE THE GOLDEN CITY CAME THAT PEOPLE USED TO GROW OLD and wrinkled and die of old age when they were only 60, 70 or 80 years old!--Grandfather's beautiful granddaughter whom we see picking flowers in this picture is 120 years old and is still considered to be a young girl!--People on Earth now age very slowly, and some, like Grandfather, are already well into their 800's!

IT'S ALWAYS THRILLING WHEN GRANDFATHER TELLS ABOUT THE DAY THAT THE FLYING-PEOPLE FIRST CHARGED OUT OF THE SKY, riding on great flying horses to rid the World of the evil empire of the One-World dictator! Then it was the World Government forces' turn to flee and hide! But no matter where they hid, the super-human Flying-People sought them out and destroyed them all, until at last, the bestial dictator and all of his cruel and hateful worshipers were destroyed!

THE BILLIONS OF FLYING-PEOPLE THEN WENT TO EVERY COUNTRY, every province, every island, everywhere on Earth, to teach all of the surviving people the ways of their great new King--Jesus! A massive clean-up campaign was launched around the World and all weapons of war were burned and destroyed. Most of the big cities of the World had already fallen, either in the terrible Nuclear War in the last weeks of the World Government's reign or in the gigantic earthquake that struck just before the Flying-People's invasion!

Opposition or Opportunity - Final

Embedded image from another site

I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains [just one grain; it never becomes more but lives] by itself alone. But if it dies, it produces many others and yields a rich harvest.
John 12:24 AMPC

*Man's Extremity Is God's Opportunity

Anyone who aspired to achieve anything great in this world to bring about monumental change and improvement faced enormous challenges and great opposition. Those who fought for the rights of children to receive schooling and not be in the workforce from the time they were very small faced opposition. Those who fought for racial equality faced continual opposition. Those who fought for the death of the slave trade fought the financial magnates of their day. Those who fought to make it possible for the common people to read the Bible faced opposition and persecution from the religious powers of their day. And on it goes.

Those who preach a message of salvation, faith, and truth will often stand in opposition to the world and its status quo.—Jesus, speaking in prophecy

*

Philippians 2:13 says, “For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.” And 1 Thessalonians 5:24 says, “The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it.” There is wonderful liberation in these promises, because focusing on what God is doing through us takes the pressure off us and puts it on Him. Our job is to step out in faith, dependent upon God, and trusting Him to accomplish His purpose in whatever He called us to do.

That doesn’t mean everything will run smoothly. Wherever the work of God is being carried out we can expect opposition, not only on the mission fields, but in our homes and communities. There will always be pitfalls and hurdles, but when Christ is our strength, the difficulties will deepen our commitment, and we not only learn from them, but in them, experience the unlimited resources of Christ. We are never called to a task without the equipping and empowerment of Christ, and that’s where our confidence lies; not in what we are doing, but in what Christ is doing through us.—Charles Price

*

Adversity is a severe instructor, set over us by one who knows us better than we do ourselves, as He loves us better, too. He that wrestles with us strengthens our nerves and sharpens our skill. Our antagonist is our helper. This conflict with difficulty makes us acquainted with our object and compels us to consider it in all its relations. It will not suffer us to be superficial.—Edmund Burke

*

Difficulties are the admission tickets to the game of life. But, at times, we cannot help suspecting that life would be much more pleasant without the hassles. Is that what you think? Before answering, ponder the following.

In a world without hurdles, there are no champions; without suffering, there are no saints; without battles, there are no victories; without rain, no rainbows. Doesn’t it appear that a world that includes pain is more rewarding than one that doesn’t? Isn’t heat necessary to produce gold, pressure and polishing necessary to produce diamonds, and adversity necessary to produce character?

Here’s how Henry Ford expressed the same sentiment: “Life is a series of experiences, each one of which makes us bigger, even though sometimes it is hard to realize this. We must learn that the setbacks … which we endure help us to march onward.”—Chuck Gallozzi

Opposition or Opportunity (Part 1)

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me--And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation works patience; 2 Corinthians 12:9 Romana 5:3 KJV

A compilation April 2014

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.—John 16:33

*

As we faithfully carry out our mission of reaching the world with the message, we can expect to encounter some form of opposition along the way from time to time. Opposition and adversity are a fact of life in our active service for the Lord.

As Christians, we’re called to learn to take adversity in stride and be prepared to face the challenges it poses with an attitude of faith. This will empower us to be spiritually, mentally, and emotionally prepared to not only weather the storms, but to expect the Lord to turn even seemingly negative circumstances to our good and into opportunities to further His work. We can brave the winds of adversity with the unwavering confidence that Jesus has a purpose and plan in every difficulty that enters our lives.

Asking the Lord for His perspective on the challenges that we face, and for His guidance as to how to respond proportionately and to take action proactively enables us to take adversity and opposition in stride and channel our energy and efforts toward the solutions and the victories.

When we face adversity, it doesn’t necessarily mean that we’ve done something wrong or made a mistake. If we neglect to operate in prayer and counsel with others the Lord places in our lives as godly counselors, and if we fail to stay in tune with the Lord, then it could result in unwise and unprayerful decisions; we might make some mistakes and there would be lessons to be learned. But that is not always the cause of adversity. If we are prayerfully committing our lives and work to the Lord and we face opposition or confrontation from some quarter, then we are to “count it all joy when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”1

Regardless of the circumstances, by faith our expectations should be that we will go through the difficulty and come out the better for the experience in one way or another—either strengthened, or wiser, or able to give a good witness, or to continue advancing despite the crisis. We can embrace the challenges that come our way and welcome the opportunities to ride the wave of adversity and come through strengthened and rise above the difficulties.—Maria Fontaine

*

Every great man or woman of faith, and even idealists who were not necessarily religious, faced opposition and adversity in many forms and to varying degrees throughout their lifetimes. The testament of their lives is often one of struggling through adversity, refusing to be swayed by opposition, and forging ahead to fulfill their calling and mission. They had a purpose, and they knew that the fulfillment of their purpose would not be handed to them on a silver platter. Opposition presented itself in many forms: political opposition, opposition from those protecting their financial interests, opposition from the religious powers of their day, opposition from friends and family, opposition from a hostile media, opposition from educational institutions.

The Change Equation

Embedded image from another site

“Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.” Matthew 9:29 KJV

Written by Maria Fontaine January 2014

This is a time of great change in the world—technological, economic, religious, political, business, and environmental. The results are seen in governments, organizations, and in the lives of families and individuals. Although it’s sometimes more evident and easier to recognize and take stock of at the start of a new year, change is actually constantly affecting all spheres of society.

Many people, from religious leaders to productivity gurus to life coaches to political leaders, realize the benefits of change and emphasize flexibility. Everyone knows that it is rough to go through, but when the difficulties are weighed against the benefits that change brings about, most agree that it’s worth it.

Much of the benefit we derive from the changes that come into our lives depends on how we look at them and whether or not we embrace them. As always, our attitude is a key factor. Attitude can make the difference between succeeding despite difficulty or succumbing to it. Life is a journey; and change, even big change, is a part of life’s equation. As we follow God and read His Word, we will find the faith that can help us through difficult times, including times of painful change.

Some factors that have helped me to develop a positive outlook on change include:

• Trying to anticipate the resultant good results ahead. Since there often isn’t any way we can stop change—and if we try, it will knock us over—I’ve found that in those cases the best thing to do is embrace it and go with the flow. Being positive can mean the difference between riding waves of change and drowning in them.

• Asking God to help me to see the benefits of the changes that He’s allowing in my life. When I ask Him for the understanding and wisdom to get the most out of these changes, He speaks to me and gives me the answers that I need.

• Realizing that at times the toughest things that I have to pass through are the things that are the most beneficial for me in the long run. It can be hard to remember this when I’m going through a difficult situation, but sometimes I just need to “hold on,” knowing that once the storm passes, the sun will come out and I will see everything in a new light.

• Connecting with God regularly for my personal encouragement and guidance, through His Word, through meditation and prayer, etc. As destabilizing as change can be, God will always remain our anchor, and His Word will give us faith that will make the ride smoother.

• Remembering that God loves me and cares deeply about me and my happiness and well-being. In His great and all-abiding love for me, He sometimes has to allow something in my life that might not seem good, but that will actually turn out to be an experience of great benefit. Believing that He can manifest His love through difficult circumstances, and having the faith to see that even tough things can be good things, is a challenge, but I’ve found that if I can accept that challenge, I’m well on my way to feeling more comfortable and at peace with change.

Sometimes God simply can’t bring the good that He wishes to bring into our lives without us passing through some pretty stormy times. So if you’re feeling the waves crashing about you, trust Him and have faith that He knows what He’s doing. He desires only the very best for us.
* * *
Our days are a kaleidoscope. Every instant a change takes place.
—Henry Ward Beecher (1813–1887)

Christians are supposed not merely to endure change, nor even to profit by it, but to cause it.—Harry Emerson Fosdick (1878–1969)

I went to the Farmer’s Market this morning and was so pleased to find a good deal on some organic produce. When I got home and pulled the tomatoes out of the bag, however, I realized that some of them were too squishy to use, and I had to cull out the bad ones so they wouldn’t harm the others. As the saying goes, “One rotten apple (or in this case, tomato) spoils the whole bunch.”

As I examined the tomatoes, I was surprised by their many imperfections. I’ve been used to going to the grocery store and finding piles of perfectly shaped fruits and vegetables. However, when I cut one of the “imperfect” tomatoes in half and took a bite, I was amazed at the flavor. I decided that in this case “imperfect” can definitely be better.

We often judge by appearance, but looks can be deceiving. Often, those apparently perfect pieces of produce have much deeper flaws that can’t be seen. It could very well be that they have no bug bites because they have been sprayed with chemicals whose long-term effects might be worse than the insects. The processes used to speed their growth probably affected their flavor as well. Judging between the imperfect, organic tomatoes and the seemingly perfect ones in a supermarket, the imperfect is definitely better.

God could have created a perfect world with perfect people, but He allowed man to have a choice. After the fall of man, imperfections entered our world, and man began to have to deal with problems, disease, bugs, and pain.1 But all of these imperfections drive us back into the arms of our heavenly Father. If the road were perfect and our path without difficulties, we would never find the better way to the perfect place He is preparing for us.

Sometimes, people think they can get along without God. It is only when we take a good look at our imperfections that we see the need for a Savior. Then we open our heart and receive the greatest, most perfect gift of all.
So give me the imperfections of life. Give me the odd-looking produce. Give me the rocky path. Give me all the problems and weaknesses that drive me into God’s arms. Because I know how imperfect I am, I am thankful for a perfect Savior who looks at me through the eyes of love, and whose perfect love has changed my life.

Spiritual Pest and Problems - Final

Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Matthew 18:18-20 KJV

WE'RE NOT POSSESSED, BUT SOMETIMES WE'RE OBSESSED! Just like the Devil's pests, mosquitoes and files and bugs etc., they can't take us over, can they?--But they sure annoy us! So some people have annoying spirits, Even Christians who love the Lord and are born-again are sometimes subject to evil spirits who are annoying them, pestering them, bothering them or lying to them. We've all had that experience at some time or other. Doesn't the Devil ever talk to you?--Of course he does! He lies to you, tries to get you discouraged, tries to get you down, tries to deceive you.--Right? I mean, we've all had it! Even Jesus had it! Have you forgotten? The Devil took Him out into the desert and tempted Him with three great temptations!

SO DON'T FEEL BAD IF THE DEVIL ATTACKS YOU and BOTHERS YOU and ANNOYS YOU and PESTERS YOU and HINDERS YOU, THAT'S HIS JOB, and THE LORD ALLOWS IT AS YOUR TEST. What was Jesus' temptation for? It was the final test before He began His public ministry! The Devil was testing Him to see it he could make Him fall and gave Him three different types of temptations. Jesus had been 40 days and 40 nights out in the wilderness. The Devil even quoted Scripture! But the Lord answered him with Scripture each time, remember? (Mt.4:1-11)

REMEMBER, JESUS WAS IN A HUMAN BODY THEN and HE HAD ALL THE WEAKNESSES and FRAILTIES and TEMPTATIONS OF THE HUMAN FLESH, and here the Devil offers Him the whole world! He could have said, "Well, it's My World anyhow and I'm going to take it over one of these days soon, so nuts to you!" But He didn't. He just quoted Scripture, What did He say? (TFI: "Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve!") (Mat.4:10) And in another place He said, "Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God." (Mat.4:7) And what was the answer to the other temptation? (TFI: "Man shall not live by bread alone.") (Mat. 4:4) The first temptation was food, and Jesus answered, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeded out of the mouth of God."

SO IF THE DEVIL CAN EVEN PESTER JESUS, CERTAINLY HE OR SOME OF HIS LITTLE DEMONS MUST WORK HARD ON YOU TO PESTER YOU! So what is the best way to resist the Devil when he comes along with his lies and temptations and deceits and all kinds of things that he's petering you with? Pick up the Sword of the Spirit and whack away! He'll run every time if you'll really use the Word!

FILL YOUR MIND WITH THE WORD OF GOD and YOU WON'T HAVE ROOM FOR THAT DARKNESS! FILL YOUR MIND WITH THE LIGHT OF GOD'S WORD and THE DARKNESS WILL FLEE! Quote Scripture! Don't listen to the Devil's lies! Fill your mind with the Light, and the darkness will flee! "Give no place to the Evil One," God's Word says. (Eph.4:27) Don't give him any room to get in, don't give him any room to talk to you! With some people, the Devil comes knocking at their heart's door and they open the door and they're very hospitable! They say, "Come right on in, Mr. Devil and Mrs. Devil and all your little devilets! Come on in, pull up a chair! Here, sit down and let's talk things over!" Is that what you do? (TFI: No!) You'd better not, because if you listen to him, the same thing that happened to Eve, will happen to you! Don't even listen to him! Don't listen to his doubts and his fears and his discouragement and his temptations and all the rest, sock him with the Word of God! Praise God?--Amen! God bless and keep you and make you a blessing!-- In Jesus' name, amen!

Spiritual Pest and Problems (Part 5)

Embedded image from another site

I'VE HEARD OF PEOPLE PRAYING FOR PEOPLE and COMMANDING THE SPIRIT, WHATEVER KIND OF SPIRIT IT WAS, SAYING, "GIVE ME YOUR NAME! WHAT'S YOUR NAME?"--And they have to obey, and the mouth of the victim files open and tells the name of the spirit, what kind of spirit it is. So it's good to really nail it down and identify it and make it confess its name!--Or have someone with discernment there that recognises the spirit and its name, and then rebuke it specifically by name in the Name of the Lord and command it to depart, because we have authority over those devils!

I THINK IT IS REALLY QUITE A MINISTRY FOR SOME WHO HAVE THOSE GIFTS and THAT ANOINTING, WHO HAVE DISCERNMENT and WHO HAVE POWER OVER EVIL SPIRITS. We all have power over evil spirits, all of us who have the Lord, but we need to learn how to exercise it and how to be specific about it and how to discern what demon or devil it is and what kind or what name, and then command it by name in the Name of the Lord to depart, with real anointing take charge of the situation and command it to depart! But if the victim doesn't want to be delivered, and their own will refuses to be delivered, then the Devil has got a real hold on them.

I GUESS YOU'D CALL IT TAKING AUTHORITY OVER EVIL SPIRITS, being specific and actually commanding the evil spirit to leave in the Name of the Lord and by the authority of the Power of the Spirit with real anointing and spiritual power, and it will depart! It's just pitiful that these Christians who have hosted these pests for years and been annoyed by them and pestered by them, oppressed by them, handicapped by them, haven't recognised it and really rebuked it by name! I think sometimes they don't want to recognise it, they don't want to admit it and confess it. We've had several cases like that. Until we virtually exposed them, they weren't even willing to confess it or admit it, Some of them hadn't even realised it until someone came along with real discernment and rebuked the demon in Jesus' name.

BUT ANYHOW, WITH THESE SERIOUS CASES OF DEMON OPPRESSION and PESTERING, THEY NEED TO REALLY GET FOLKS TOGETHER WITH REAL FAITH and POWER OF THE LORD and really fast and pray to get rid of them and recognise them and discern them and face them down specifically by name or by type or whatever, and just rebuke them in the authority and anointing of the Lord and in the Name of the Lord and command them to depart! As the disciples said, "Even the devils are subject unto us!" They have to obey when you are specific and call them by name and command them in the depart, even tell them where to go like Jesus did.

THEY ASKED IF THEY COULD GO INTO THE SWINE, SO HE LET THEM and THEY POSSESSED ABOUT 2,000 HEAD OF SWINE! That was quite a herd!--And they all ran down and fell over the precipice into the sea and were apparently killed. (Mat.8:28-34; Mark 5:1-17) So no wonder their owner their owner got mad at Jesus! To get rid of that many devils all at once and destroy his whole heard of swine was quite a scene!

JESUS WAS VERY SPECIFIC! HE WOULD TALK TO THE DEVILS and EVEN CALL THEM BY NAME! In that one case He demanded the devil's name. He said, "What is thy name?" And the man said, "Our name is Legion for we are many!" The poor demoniac was possessed by a whole legion of devils! Then as soon as they were all gone the man sat there at Jesus' feet, clothed, in his right mind and peaceful. Up till that time he had broken chains and was a wild man, violent! He was totally, instantly delivered apparently from 2,000 devils!
**
Ahh, the weapons of My Spirit--bold, brave, and daring!

"For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. " 2 Cor. 10:3-5
