Gentleman...

I went on a lunch date on Saturday, although, he would have preferred a dinner date. I don't like driving at night to areas I am not familiar with.

Prior to meeting in person, he said he was a gentleman...his mother raised him right. I was like, great! Well, we met at the parking lot of the restaurant that he suggested; as it was midpoint for both of us. Well, he definitely didn't showed his gentleman ways. He didn't hold the door open to the restaurant...he sat before I did...he ordered before I did. I was like...what happened to the gentleman manners he bragged about? Was he nervous? Did he just forget? Hmmmmm... He said to me, too bad we live so far from each other, you're such a nice lady. Then, he mentions Harpers Ferry, WV...going there in the Spring. Another hmmmmm.... I don't think so.

I agree with GG...a man with old-fashion manners is definitely more appealing to me.

Technical help...

Yesterday, I needed some IT help. As I wait for the tech to come on the phone, I get a flat man's voice...

He...can I help you?
Me...hello, how are you doing? (friendly tone)
He....can I help you?
Me...are you sad today?
He...starts laughing and says, no, I'm ok
Me...you had me worried for a second, I'm glad you're fine. I then proceed to tell him my problem.

I am always very friendly to folks on the phone. I guess you can't expect to always get the same in return. I hope I made him think of how he came across and work at sounding better. At least I made him laugh! yay

What is your opinion?

Good morning, All!

Would like your opinion, please.

I just had a conversation with a co-worker regarding Alan Henning. He's the British hostage that may be beheaded next. I pray it doesn't happen!!

I basically read to my co-worker what was written in today's Washington Post that Henning was the only non-Muslim traveling in his convoy and was aware of the risk. He was kidnapped on December 26, 2013, in Syria. My co-worker immediately replied he was a fool. He knew the risk he was taking. He left his family to feed other families. He should have stayed home with his own family; none of this would have happened to him. I said to her that she needed to soften her heart. Regardless of his decision to go, you don't feel sorry for him. She replied, no I do not need to soften my heart...he knew that trip was risky...he was a fool.

There has been an outcry from the British Muslim community appealing for his release. I think the outcry will fall on deaf's ears. Regardless, I pray Henning gets to come home to his family.

To me, Henninng, has a big heart. Trying to help others was in his heart. He may have known about the risk, but he wanted to complete his mission at least one more time.

Do you feel sorry for him? Are you concerned at all?
Do you have a cold heart that you think he deserves what he gets?
Or, no opinion.

Let's play ball!

Today, my son and I went to see the Orioles play against the Yankees. My son is an Orioles fan and I'm a Yankee fan. Please don't hate me. I'm from New York; what can I say! Well, Ryan Flaherty, from the Orioles team, hit a foul ball in the direction we were sitting and my son got the ball! As it was raining today, he really didn't want to go to the game, but catching that ball changed his mood. He is so happy with his ball! And, I was happy that the Yankees won! Woo-Hoo!! THE END! playball yay

Again...

A British aid worker was beheaded. I'm so upset! Those ISIS folks are crazy, heartless people. Another family mourning. When is it going to end? My deepest condolences to the family. David Haines, may you rest in eternal peace. sad flower

Our hearts are rotten...

What do you think about this?

"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" (Jer. 17:9)
"For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies." (Matt. 16:19)
"As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one. (Rom. 3:10)

I don't have a good heart? Yikes!
