"THEY LOOKED BACK"

Looking Back On Their Mistakes In Lifes Past..............................It Was Understandable Now To All That Survived
For They Could Now Only Hope............................... To Pass It On Down...................... To Their Next Generations...So..At Least... The Real Truth Would Live On

For...It Was In The Year 1620...That William Bradford....And Miles Standish...(Later To Become Their Military Leader)..And 102 Passengers On The Mayflower
Landed At What Is Now Called...Plymouth Rock

And...As They Looked Back At What Happened?
They Could See..."Squanto"..An English Speaking Wampanoag Indian....(Who Was Captured By Explorer John Smith In 1614... And Meant For Slavery) Sent To England....Where He Learned The English Language...And Somehow..Escaped.... And Made His Way Back To His Homeland

Squanto... Was The Interpreter For Chief Massasoit Of The Wamponoag Indian Tribe...A Tribe That Had Existed Here
For....At The Least?...10,000Years

They Saw The Wampanoag Indians Helping These Strangers From Another World
They Saw How The Indians Helped Them Through The Harsh Winters With Food And Supplies
They Saw The Indian Tribes Teaching The Settlers How to Plant Corn
And They Saw.... That Within A Spanning Period Of...... 20 To 30 Years?
These Very Same People They Had Helped Survive.... From Another World...Would Almost Kill Off Their Entire People

How Strange It Was To Learn........ That What I Was Taught In Elementary School?
Could Not Be Any Further From The Actual Truth

For...They Could Not Go Back To The Past......They Could Not Change The Mistakes... That Were Made Back Then
But...History Does Reveal ...That The Native American People... Here... At The Time?
Were A Kind And Generous People
And Unfortunately?...Within 270 Years?.........It Proved To Be.... Their Doom
