The vow

I have just finished watching 'the vow' about sex cult in the states masquerading as a type of self help group. In it women are portrayed as entitled princesses and men as protectors who basically resent the women.it seems that by categorizing both sexes as such, both sexes feel shame, anyone any thoughts on this concept or the series in general?

All those groups, or "cults" are aimed at vulnerable people in order to take control.

Some people might need this to feel "secure'" and "safe" as in a family.
not much difference to religion then
Funny thing about this cult,a lot of them were rich and'sucessful ' people who basically allowed themselves to be broken down .At the very least its an insight into the human mind.
There are some "rich" and "successful" people who are into Scientology.
Same thing!
Tom Cruise being the worst one at controlling others because he has money and power!

It is just a belief that what they´re doing is good for humanity.
They are certainly good at something: controlling people and taking their money under false pretenses!

As long as there are gullible people around, there will always be some people who will take advantage of their situation and will start a new religion, or cult.
Week people can be lead astray easier or are looking for someone to look after them and make decision for them. Often the people they turn to don't have their best interests at heart.
I remember I had it on my TV but it was on "mute", so I was just doing stuff on the computer and just looked at it from time to time... I thought it was a TV show about wedding vows, but as I said, I was not hearing a thing, just looking at people's faces... And I remember when I saw this guy Keith, my first thought was: "That guy has a strange face"... Reminded me of Charles Manson, to be honest... Then, I googled his name and well, I am sure you know he was sentenced to 120 years in jail... bouquet
P.S. I would be the kind of person they would hate to death, I guess... I don't follow anyone or want to be followed by anyone... That show was being played a few days ago, again and I watched a few episodes... I find it so hard to believe that there are such amount of vulnerable, weak individuals... It really broke my heart... blues
