What is your own value?

A man went to God and asked, “What is my value?”
God gave him one stone and said, “Find out the value of this stone, but don’t sell it.”
The man took the stone to an Orange Seller and asked him what it’s cost would be.
The Orange Seller saw the shiny stone and said, “You can take 12 oranges and give me the stone.”
The man apologized and said that the God has asked him not to sell it.
He went ahead and found a vegetable seller. “What could be the value of this stone?” he asked the vegetable seller. The seller saw the shiny stone and said, “Take one sack of potatoes and give me the stone.”
The man again apologized and said he can’t sell it.
Further ahead, he went into a jewellery shop and asked the value of the stone.
The jeweller saw the stone under a lens and said, “I’ll give you 50 Lakhs for this stone.” When the man shook his head, the jeweller said, “Alright, alright, take 2 crores, but give me the stone.”
The man explained that he can’t sell the stone. Further ahead, the man saw a precious stone’s shop and asked the seller the value of this stone.
When the precious stone’s seller saw the big ruby, he lay down a red cloth and put the ruby on it. Then he walked in circles around the ruby and bent down and touched his head in front of the ruby.
“From where did you bring this priceless ruby from?” he asked. “Even if I sell the whole world, and my life, I won’t be able to purchase this priceless stone.
Stunned and confused, the man returned to the God and told him what had happened. “Now tell me what is my value, God?

God said, “The answers you got from the Orange Seller, the Vegetable Seller, the Jeweller & the Precious Stone’s Seller explain the value of our life… You may be a precious stone, even priceless, but people may value you based on their level of information, their belief in you, their motive behind entertaining you, their ambition, and their risk taking ability. But don’t fear, you will surely find someone who will discern your true value.”

In the eyes of God you are very very precious. Respect yourself. You are Unique. No one can Replace you!

Respect yourself..  Don’t undermine yourself.

When people value things, they try to get them as cheap as possible, if it's their intention to purchase. When people buy cattle at a market the value is what the purchaser is prepared to pay. They are not interested in the life of that animal.
When animals were sacrificed in Bible stories, did god stop this practice? No. Because he didn't value their life.
When a child is born with a deformity or in a famine, does god help. No. Because he doesn't value their life.
Hope this answers your question.
Basically, price is objective (in principle) and value is totally subjective, agreed. Your dog may cost a couple hundred quid to buy. It's value to you may be infinite or nothing depending on whether you love it or hate it. Now, according to you, God loves his dog. Why should the dog love itself just because of that, though?
A precious stone especially a diamond lasts forever. Therefore it is greater value in terms of longevity that anything else.
Decent...... Also I do not hide behind a blank photo. You are obviously frightened to reveal yourself and don't have the confidence that God values you and will protect you.
The motive of this story is that every human being has importance in himself, that's why every human should respect each other. nothing to do with God and Ruby Stone.
God is everything for believers and just an imaginary character for non believers.
Ruby stone is a diamond that can only cut glass.
If the thoughts are not good then the photo is of no value, and if the thoughts are good then there is no need for the photo.
Decent....How can you say that God is everything for believers? Did you not read my question to your god?
You couldn't answer because you are like all believers who switch off their brain to reality and the truth about life.
You are scared at the thought of having to face up to the realities of this world. The truth is 100% certainty that there is no such God who values any living creature on this planet. If there is a creator, then whatever it is put life here as an experiment.
History has proved this beyond any doubt, but it's hard for some people to accept that we are alone, and these people clutch at anything to escape the truth, and they are called believers.
If I can help you in any way face the truth, I will be glad to help.
I am open-minded. I can listen both believers and nonbelievers. But what I believe or not will be my own decision.
Thanks for the spirit of your help.

That maybe the case yet a dalit has less value than a brahmin for god/s and humans alike?
A very inspiring story Ten.

When we ask people what's our value. We're asking, most people do,
for validation. Don't do that. I eill never do that. It only shows my insecurity. I know who I am, my value is my own concerns and not others. If you are a good person, they respect you. If you're misunderstood because of lie told about you, don't dignify those lies. They know if they are telling the truth or not.
God said: "You will know them by their fruits."

Having said that, strive to be good.
Didi.......... You don't have to be an expert to form a conclusion about issues. Being an expert is what people call themselves to belittle others who may have a different opinion. Any intelligent minded person can do research and form a decision on a subject. Because they then as a result disagree with a so called expert does not invalidate their point of view.
ok. Lets say that a heart surgeon is of the opinion that you need immediate open heart surgery to save your life. Lets also say that Mr nobody at the chippy round the corner has a different opinion. He feels that you don't need it. What would you do? Would you have the surgery or not?

After all, everyone can do research and expert are just people trying to belittle others innit?
I don't seriously believe a person would ask the opinion of a chippy down the road on a complex subject. But you may be better advised to get a second opinion from someone else who has studied the matter in question. A matter of life and death in the real world is a different situation than about historical myths.

Why not? Everyone, including the chippy can do research. If he's got an opinion, then he's done it aye?

Do you know what that someone is called? A (real) expert.

History takes as much expertise as heart surgery. It's just a different subject.

On here, the vast majority of us are NOT experts but some of us (including myself) quote experts, others quote laymen or charlatans. That's the difference between our opinions on here imo.
If someone bashes you over the head, you don't need an expert to tell you that you may feel a discomfort after. Common sense and your own experience makes you aware of that.
