hey guys,maybe this has already been done, but I thought it would be interesting to share each others favorite quotes... :D
one of my favorite quotes of all time:

2nd Officer Lightoller on the stand......
On being questioned by the senate committee investigating the causes to the the sinking of the Titanic, 2nd officer Lightoller was asked a rather demeaning question by one senator, in regards to his obligation to his duty as an officer....
"So Officer Lightoller", the senator quipped... "when did you find it necessary to abandon your post in order to save yourself?"
To which 2nd Officer Lightoller retorted... "I did not abandon my post sir, my post abandoned me."
For the record... Officer Lightoller did in fact go down with the Titanic.... But as luck would have it, the boiler exploded from beneath him, and rocketed him back to the surface, to which he was picked up by one of the lifeboats, and consequently saved.
This story was printed in the New York Times the following Sunday after the Titanic sinking.....
