One person I heard of resolved to do something she'd never done before, every day, for a year, to see if that would help her chronic depression. Even something like bleeding a radiator. Eventually she changed it to 365 new things in a year, because sometimes she did several new things on one day and some days there was nothing new to do. Anyway, she kept track, did it, wrote a book about it, seems to have worked.

Doing anything better than doing nothing moping
