Debate on twilight
The other day, my friend and I are sitting at a park in town. Not to my surprise she is reading her very favorite series twilight, the new teen sensation. I have read the books, and I have seen the movies. I admit, they are not as terrible as I thought they would be, but there are way better books out there worth reading. A few things really drive me insane about the books.1. Edward is "flawless.” I beg to differ. Edward is up tight, controlling, abrasive, and rude.
2. The main character (Bella) is the most two dimensional person I have ever read about. She has only a handful of emotions, and frankly, I find that to be a total turn off. Sad, happy, crushed, and
3. In one of the books, Edward leaves Bella. That is not the problem. The problem that I have with this part of the series is that she throws herself at her male best friend and is an adrenaline junky. Thirteen-year-old little kids are impressionable. What I mean by that is the author makes it seem okay that you can have a man in the back burner just in case your boyfriend leaves you.
4. in this realm, when these so-called “vampires” hit the sunlight they sparkle. No ashes, no dust, not even melting. I give the author a lot of credit for being original, that took a lot of balls to do. Do not get me wrong, if it was a typical love story it would be fabulous, and probably would be on my top ten favorite books. Because the author took the classic vampire and turned him into Adam Lambert, I honestly can say that this book is a disgrace to the entire *horror* world.
*I realize that this book is not intended to be a horror book, but if a story has a Gangster as its protagonist, it should be about drugs, money, and rival gangs. Not about a gangster that when he hears a bell he turns into a ballerina.
Do any other die-hard Dracula fans feel this way? I am always up for a good debate that does not turn hostile.
