I wonder if people do not meet because they hear too many bad stories, they do not actually expect they would meet anyone online for real, or maybe the person is just too far away.

I know for sure people can really meet and bond,even if they met on a site like this,as a matter of fact I was talking to a guy that I liked a lot and thought we'd meet someday soon but he managed to put us on hold due to his fears,due to his emotional package he brought from past relationships.
So I have an advice for people who want to find someone online:
-don't try to find out what's wrong,enjoy what you see ,the truth is that maybe this time nothing is wrong,give yourself a chance and dare to hope and dream

Anyone I've ever talked too is so far away , met a nice lady in Vegas, really nice, but the distance is a killer .

i just got lucky and found some one. she and i met on another free site. we dated and we liked each other. we are going to continue our relationship and see how it grows. i will keep up here as i have some friends here but i will not date another girl as long as she and i are working on building a relationship. how ever we all know that one day we may be back looking again. you never know.
i got lucky and found her close to me. it is not easy to find some one close on the Internet. i recommend using as many sites as you can to locate some one. i was on four sites. i had replies and offers on all four but i did not hook up but the one time with my new friend. for all of the four sites i used a Hot mail address. i just looked at it and saw that there was a total of 374 replies from the four dating sites in a two month period. granted some of those replies were correspondences with the same person multiple times but not that many times. so what i am getting at is the law of averages here is minuscule. to actually find a compatible person that is with in striking range is going to be a shot in the dark.
sure there were others i probably could have taken out but the fact is i did not. probably by my own doing. i just am not a player so i waited and kept up with my correspondences until i felt good about my selection and she felt good about me. i pray tell we remain close.
