What do we understand by the word Love?

There are many people in this world who say they love another with a love that will never die,They claim that their love is special, is constant,is unlike that which young lovers have one for another.Such people go to great lengths to convince others,and themselves alike,that they have found "true love",a gift which many will sadly never receive.

Love is a choice. Period. We have the power to choose within us how we are going to react to any situation presented before us. We can choose to act in love, or not.

It is much harder to love someone over a long period of time than it is to feel "in love" at the beginning of a relationship. I don't think that is real love at all. It is effortless, and love requires effort.

Too often, "I love you" stands for " I need you". Well, this isn't love, either.

In a long term relationship, maybe " I love you" should be replaced with "You are not perfect, but I admire and respect most of what you stand for, and I choose to love you despite your faults. "

Just my 2 cents worth.
