"The Guy Friend"

I don't know how it all works, but I can assume that it is probably like a male companion that is just that. No pressure, no thoughts of something happening or developing.

Personally I don't really don't have any female friends that do this with me. I do however get along with women as friends, but none that keep me around to cheer them up or for a shoulder to cry on specifically.

To use a friend is to lose a friend. You don't use a friend, such relationship will not work. And it is not nice thing to do. It is the same with male or female friends. I don't use my girlfriends and they don't use me. Although, if I think well, friends use each other for companionship, good time, advice, comfort, but it can't be that one is only a taker and the other only a giver. So, they can't go to the guy friend only when they are hurt to shed their tears, that guy would get too bored in the end. They probably also have other things to talk about or shared activities, only then the friendship will work.
