If the Earth stopped moving Would we all fall down

My Friend asked me this today and I thought it might be a good ? to put out there.

Would we know how to walk? When we learned in the first place, it was moving.
Well from a science piont of view..if the earth stopped moving life here would be very different....like it would be day on one side of the earth and dark on the other sideprofessor
Well I guess insted of falling down we would be flying out to space. The gravity is present due to rotation and traslation of the planet and all that regulate seasons, sea movement, climate and lots of things more, and it's true will be a dark side and sunny one laugh

If that happens will be a real mess... you should ask to someone who study this things, would give you a better explanation. confused
We would freeze.
no we would not fall down as far as the implication that we lean into or away from the Earths movement.

Water would not spin/rotate down drains anymore.

We could fall down from freezing to death on the dark side as it would soon be very cold.
total gravity = 978032(1 + .0053 sin2(q ) - .000024 sin4(q )) - .3086 h + a,

where q is the latitude, h is the sea level elevation (in meters) and
a is the anomaly (the difference between the the gravity reading an all know effects on gravity). The total gravity will be given in milliGals.

Ok that was the egghead version.

To answer your question, if the earth stopped right now we would start traveling about 460 metres per second, but you would eventually hit the ground because we wouldn't have enough speed for escape velocity.
