I'll write something about our history.. :)
I almost visited Bulgaria last year while I was in Europe. It’s a country that has always interested me and I’ll surely go one day.
Onlyguy, I m sure you ll love it :)
very beautiful i was looking at pics today of bulgaria . i want to check out the coastal towns on the black, sea. the mountains look magical and waterfalls cool birds eagles n wildlife . and old n ancient architecture. im visiting one day.
session, check out Sozopol at the Black sea :)
i remember seeing that name jana i'll google it. lol i like that large bodies of water that makes bulgaria unique in europe having that on the black, sea. i have heard of that sea before but never realised wheir it was at. lol once i get interested in something i research it alot. im doing the black sea to researching it. lol it sounds so ominous i like that. lol
the bulgarian st . tropez very cool . that made my stomach jump looking at those pics. lol the black sea is like a big lake it didn't say fresh water lake though like lake michigan by me. i was water skieing in st petersburg florida before and had a shark circle me after i wiped out. they didn't tell me until my they were forcefully pulling me in the boat.im like what's your problem . lol they didn't want me to panic . i love fishing to especially in a ancient city like that would be incredible . im glad you turned me on to this. lol i never realised bulgaria was this old the cities and everything . i like learning new things. thanks jana. i know why i, missed this blog saturday i, was on my blog. lol
The Bulgarian state is more than 1300 year old, founded in 681. Thracians (highly developed people) lived on this land, then came some Slavic tribes and finally, the protobulgars, an Indo-European people with high developed culture too, so they formed the state. Ancient Rome and Bysantia ruled here too so there are many cultural layers and ruins. Prehistorical ones too, you can check out for example about Varna Necropolis, internationally considered one of the key archaeological sites in world prehistory.
It's a pity that the 500 years of Ottoman rule stopped our development and ruined everything, then 45 years of communist rule.. But Bulgaria is like a Fenix :)
Thank you for the interest, session and thanks to my compatriot for posting this blog!
Yes it was called "Black" back in the past because of the storms.. But it's a calm sea nowadays ;)
Just like us ... ;)
yr welcome jana and thank, you. it's very hard to kill a country or cities im glad the didn't . you can kill people but the land and country will always be their. im suprised after everything you mentioned conquess wars world war 1 an 2 and wars 1000s of years ago that buildings and things are still their that's always tripped me out that they survived . im also glad the communists didn't destroy it they weren't that far gone to do that. lol if only those buildings could talk. lol very interesting jana bulgaria is my kind of town,.
Thank you session! And you can check out my parents'town and the ancient capital of Bulgaria, Veliko Turnovo. After our Liberation from Ottoman rule in 1878 we were 3 million of people and now we are almost 8 millions. You are right about the buildings etc, the greatest pity is many books were destroyed, so we don't have enough information. And btw there are a couple of trees old as Bulgaria.. about 1300 years!
There are a lot of things we are proud of and one of them is the Cyrillic alphabet which was created for us by the brothers and saints Cyril and Methodius. Then it spread to other countries like Russia. Now the Cyrillic alphabet is the third official alphabet of the EU together with the Latin and Greek ones.
i love storms i, would like that. lol i'll bet over time millions of people died in the black sea i, think, i remember religious things happening with the black sea im not sure maybe it was the red sea. lol i lv water i would go out on a boat iin a storm on the black sea i like danger . i've done it here on lake michigan the waters get fierce . that's exciting to me. lol
yr welcome jana i'll check, that out ur parents town i can look at this stuff all day. lol that tree is on a mountain the oldest tree in the world i read that. if i could i'd already be on a flight to bulgaria yesterday . lol my new dream.
It was about the Red sea, in the Bible.
i'm glad to hear session, hopefully you ll visit someday soon!
Really ? :)
There are much dead streams ... It will make bout out of any control.
What about mountain trips ? We have 4 big mountains and some tops and it's extreme to go there because nature is everywhere, paths are narrow and... It's perfect.
I hope your dream will come true.
thanks patch i don't want to die. lol but i, like the feeling of thinking you possibly can doing something like bungi jumping i've done or parachuting out of a plane i like the rush. im a big walker and hiker i would hike those mountains i lv nature n animals.

You're always wellcome here, Session. :)
I'm sure that will be unforgettable for you !
this keeps getting better and better . lol that's everything i lv extreme sports and activities . caving rafting hiking trails boating i hv this here at home. but experiencing in another country would be tops. i've never seen nothing like that what you hv inm bulgaria you guys are very lucky to live their ,i, like the food to like bulgarian stew or ghoolash with pork i, like meat and potatoes . lol you'll need to eat good with so many activities to do, their that's for sure. very cool thanks patch n jana i enjoyed this conversation.
i love my new internet TV lol im getting some many pics n info menta drink and mastika all the wines. i've had baklava before im always grilling n barbecuing i'd definitely like the cuisine i want to move to bulgaria . lol seriously.
haha session, you know a lot of our cuisine :) Again, you re always welcome here!
my mom has vacationed in budapest hungary before last year. im going to talk her into us going to bulgaria now. lol wikipdia and google hv tons of information . im looking at bulgarian soups n salads rite now as ,i, write. lol theirs pictures of all the different foods im getting hungry now. lol i like spicy the stuffed peppers look delicious. it says bulgaria invented yoghurt going back to 3000 BC no wonder it's high quality haha i lv yoghurt.
i read that jana the lactobacillus bulgaricus <<< spelled like bulgaria lol i eat yoghurt practically everyday with my lunch but just dannon or yoplay. nothing like that. lol i like trying different things that sounds delicious . wow that radiation is something japan is really hurting from that i believe that your yoghurt probably has that special propertys that actually heal and restore like the immune system or something . i think alot of foods or soups do that like when im sick campbell 's chicken noodle soup makes me feel better the broth penicillin in a can . lol i hope that radiation didn't spread to much around europe . i noticed now after something happens like in japan or bin laden the news stops reporting it here we'll not bin laden yet . lol but japan i never hear anything more about it here.
session, we have Danon here and it's like cream, far from the genuine one. Yes this Lactobacillus was descovered by a Bulgarian scientist and it's specific, it makes possible the fermentation of the milk and turns it into "sour milk" as we call the yoghurt.
Yoghurt is so healthy that here they give it to people who work in the mines or in some poisoning environment.
Also, the white cheese, which the Greeks patented with the brand Feta, is also Bulgarian one and we don't sit on the table without it.
As far as we got informed the radiation didn't reach Europe in some considerable amount. Thanks God! Because in 1986 we survived Chernobil...
you don't say about sea and beach!!!
