Poema Recuerda, Cuerpo de Constantine Cavafy
Recuerda, cuerpo, no sólo cuánto se te amó,no solo los lechos donde estuviste echado,
más también aquellos deseos que, por ti,
en miradas brillaron claramente
y en la voz se estremecieron –y que un
obstáculo fortuito los frustró.
Ahora que todo se halla en el pasado,
parece casi que a los deseos
aquellos te hubieras entregado –cómo brillaban,
recuerda, en los ojos que te miraban;
cómo en la voz por ti se estremecían,
recuerda, cuerpo.

Remember, body, not just how much they loved you,
not only the beds where you were lying,
Plus also desires that, for you,
clearly shone on looks
and voice shook, and a
random obstacle frustrated them.
Now that everything is in the past,
seems almost to the wishes
those you had given, how bright,
remember, in the eyes watching you;
how about you in the voice quivered,
remember, body.
