Clothing, fashion, material, and price
I am, by no means, a fashion expert. If it were up to me, I'd be in jeans and t-shirts everyday. Of course, some days I'd dress it up a little and wear a sweater, dressier shirt, and maybe some pants or khakis (something other than jeans). For me, I am more about the comfort of the clothing...the texture, the way it feels on my skin. I was born in 1981 and I was a precocious kid. You'd think that being precocious was a good thing.
I wasn't a bad kid, I just got into the kind of trouble that kids should get into...not the kind they get into these days, but I digress. Anyway, I look at pictures from when I was a kid and I can remember the way certain cltohes felt when I wore them. I can remember the way I felt in the clothes and the texture of the clothes. The sad thing is that the quality of the material seems to have gone down since then. Personally, I think that the quality in style has gone down too. Maybe this has to do with the fact that I have gotten older. It seems that we are paying more for clothing that is not that great in terms of material. I mean, why would I want to buy a shirt that looks like it can only be washed a couple of times before it is completely damaged and unwearable? Why do I want to pay for jeans that already have holes in them? Trust me, I don't need help getting holes in my jeans. A few weeks ago, I had to throw out a pair of jeans that I got at Old Navy 11 years ago. Why? Because when I was getting in my car, leaving school (grad school) for the day, I heard a rip...right in the crotch area. See, there was already a small rip there but it wasn't that bad...until then. So, for 11 years I had a wonderful pair of jeans. I still have a long sleeved tye-died t-shirt that I bought when I was a freshman in college (back in 1999). Yes, I have newer clothes and try to update my wardrobe on a regular basis. It's not all at once. My updates are a slow process. Buying new clothes (and bra's - especially cute ones that have support) makes me tired and very frustrated. It's hard to find things that I like that are reasonably priced.
