"SIR" It comes back around, in a good way

In my early years, I was down south for a bit, One of my first bars I went into, I said,"thank you SIR"

"don't call me sir" he says, I didn't know any better

I was just being polite.

Thank you for tonight, even though I am not a "SIR",

Congrates too young people who still have respect and actually mean it.

Awesome, very proud

Yep, I'm older but a "sir" LOL

Thank You, and keep being polite,, I love it

Sorry, I mean Ma'am!
hey, Couer D'Alene, my sister from there is over here right now!!applause
tell her I said hello, and the art on the green is still expensive
do you ever eat at the "Wine cellar"?
I like to be polite to women and I call them Ma'm as in "Yes Ma'm or No Ma'm". OK, so I'm 71 and many are younger, but some of these women will comment, "I'm not that old"!

I just reply, "Age has nothing to do with it. I am just respecting you as a lady".
I agree, manners... yes mam, yes sir, I'm so glad parents teach this, and mind your Ps and Qs
I tend to think of it as false politeness, meaning the opposite.
Or can it actually be positive still to this day? I know it originally was.
In my case, I'm proud... kids keep up the good work, and parents, I think we are doing alright... Remember what are parents taught us, "have respect for the elders"...
@JLC I know when you say it, you're just joking. It doesn't bother me. It would be different if you were serious. And even then we have our days where we slip up. No one is perfect.
I think they should get a liver chopping emot. thumbs up
@BCC... unless you really deserve it, OK, you got me.
I need to be a better example anyhow
Yes i was brought up to respect people and its great when other do the same. Recently i had phone trouble and went to the Telstra shop 9.05am still shut, a young employee comes out of the shop as he passes me i said what time are you opening mate thinking id made a mistake and it might be 9.30 To which he replied soon and kept walking.doh doh wave
Ive been that guy that says "soon" and still am that guy in a lot of ways, I have an idea lets go to jlc restaurant and see just how welcome you are? Tomorrow I might just open the door early because people are awesome
thumbs up politeness is a virtue that is fast diminishing. kudos to those who still uphold common decorum.
The opening time is 9am!Iwas there at 9 id left my aged and crippled mother alone while i tried to rectify a problem they caused had i been able to see where the guy went id have given a piece of advice.
Doors are open early... I hope I have my smile face on, Just found out I have a 30 top (that means people) of chinese tourists and they want food before we open, with a smile on my face, yesfrustrated
