A child and his dreams...

A friend called me today, wanted some advice on how and where to organise his b-day party. Started me thinking about having an own b-day party this year, usually i just go to my local pub and improvise a party from their on. But something special might be good this year because 35 really is a special age to me..

When i was 8 years old, my favourite uncle died, he was my hero, my idol, my everything. thats when i started thinking about life and death and all other big questions. By the time i was 10 i was sure i had figured out life...biggest conclusion i had reached was that i wanted to die when i was 35. My uncle died early 40's allot of other people i knew started complaining about their health when they were half way 30's... backproblems heartproblems cancer, a few died... I never wanted that to happen to me. yeah i was sure 35 was a good age to go.. afterall i would have been an adult for 17 years then so as an adult i would have been able to do whatever i wanted when i wanted. So i would have had more then enough time to see what i want to see, do what i want to do. Now i'm getting close to that point and how much of my childhooddreams and wishes came true??... lets see.. I drive a truck like i've always wanted.. however i did say i wanted to do that in teh states coast to coast, or those big road trains they have in oz.. not quite what i'm doing now. haven't visited half of the countries i want to see. ain't got married, don't have kids. i'm pretty sure i didn't get those 365 exclusive cars yet (one for each day of the year.. winning all those millions in the lottery didn't happen either.. maybe because i'm not playing.
Seems like nothing really turned out the way i had it planned back then but i have some great friends, have a wonderfull family, and having allot of fun in real life so guess i'll just have to add an extra 35 years and maybe create a few extra dreams

Go and buy a big birthday cake and take it to the local pub you always frequent . Anounce that it is your birhday and you are giving away free cake . Serve everyone there and enjoy the party as well as the well wishes . Tell everyone that it is a new tradition you are strarting and that all the people there will do the same . You might be surprised at the fun that you have and will in the future .. . .happy birthday
i'll have cake for sure but like most other years i doubt anyone will actually eat from it.. its usually used to have a quick taste but after the first bite we have the habbit of trowing and rubbing peoples face with it. Not sure where that tradition started but has been like that for as long as i remember. And in all honnesty cake isn't really a good foundation to start a party, to heavy on the stomach so not good for dancing and surely not good to drink as much as my friends. I was thinking more in line of inviting some rockbands to play some live music and getting a nice DJ for the latenight/earlymorning. And maybe get some nice breakfast/lunch prepared for the ending.
Have a great party, maybe some gulash soup might be a good foundation. Whatever you do, enjoy! teddybear

As for making plans, I gave up on that years ago, every time life was going well and I made plans...dunno
