Honestly there is help out there, please take it.
If you show with your own example better modeling in politness child will follow so if you ever consider changing your views, whole perception and world inside and outside you may also change
If it is the ex's 4 year old, it's a good thing the OP is not part of the child's life, she's clearly not cut out for motherhood.
I have news for you, OP. 4 year olds are inconsiderate and rowdy...and innocent and utterly wonderful.
