Most current military won't post a picture wearing their uniform. We were taught to be very careful of the image we portray when in uniform so wouldn't normally put a picture like this in a public place.
The goods ones look and talk like civilians... but are trained to always be polite and disciplined.
If they are using internet from a military base, they will be very careful about the web sites they visit... many sites may even be blocked.
In the US, those in the military are mostly from lower to middle class families... from tough neighborhoods in the cities and from rural communities.
That was my experience anyways... many years ago.
The happy go lucky pre 911 days are over. Now within the military everything is why are you doing that? Who ordered you to?
So if you got some suitor sending you pictures of himself in uniform in a far away place, telling you he is a Sgt, CPT, Lt or whatever, promising love and a secure marriage, be advised he or she is probably totally fake.
