ON LINE FRIENDS...

I still consider myself new here. I'm starting to meet some quality people and suspect some may turn into good friends. And I'm enjoying the forums too. Their great!

I posted this because, in light of the difficulty associated with LDR's, I'm curious to hear about people who have really close friends online whom they've not met. I ask this because, as much as we all want someone to hold close at night, a lot of what we want is another person to share with. It seems those needs can be met with online friends and would like to hear of some of your experiences..

Hi Dan, I've been here since around early July last year. I only discovered the forums after weeks of been here, mainly just getting some emails/flowers from a few men. Over time, I have made several friends, some closer than others. In fact, a few GF's are making plans to meet with me when I am in the EU, mainly Italy, in September this year. I have spoken with three such women both on skype and home 'phone. One also asked her man, also a CS'er to call me at home as she had raved about me to him and wanted him to know who I was. They are really adorable and straight down the line.

I had also been corresponding regularly with a man, and I know we were both kinda smitten with each other, but just kept it at that. When I was O/S, we met and in fact grew very close. Meet was way too short and nowhere enough to iron out some issues that developed. I really loved the city he lives in, it was such a lovely surprise, and he was such a wonderful host despite anything else. I had the key to his apartment and was totally trusted. He ahd gone so out of his way to even pick me up at the airport which meant an incredibly late night for him!

I have met several other people online years ago, but no from dating sites. I have stayed in their homes, again, was fully trusted. I could write a book on my experiences, so I shall stop here.laugh

Over the past two plus weeks I have made 2 very special close friends with sweetvelvet and orion48. Until I met those 2 on line I never knew what a truly close friendship on line could be like. I doubt if I will ever get to meet them in person but the contact I do have with them is very special. More so now that orion48 is in hospital and has taken a short break. He has leukaemia and needs all the support he can get right now as does sweetvelvet who is closer to him than I am. I have also met the man who is special in my life on this site kingboss and I'm here now just to be with my friends and make new friends. By the way I don't know much about the abbreviations that are sometimes used in the forums what are LDR's? I hope this answers your question.handshake

Thanks sweetvelvet has posted a thread for orion in the Irish forums so that when he gets back he can see how many friends he has. Dan I hope this also helps you understand just how close friendships can be formed. orion and sweetvelvet are my 2 closest friends on line I would feel lost without these 2 as they are really nice people.

To answer your ? about friends, I've meet many not from this site but other dating sites. Have talked years with them and enjoy the friendships, some I have meet, but were not for me, but to keep a friendship anyway is great, we all need friends in our lives.
I hope you can find what your looking for, I know one day I will, I never doubt that.
