what about blind dates???????

I have never been on a 'conventional' blind date, so I can't really comment on them.
I would feel very uncomfortable going on one.

However, I have had coffee-dates, and dinner-dates with fellow CSers, and they went well.

But that is because I had been chatting to them in advance, and 'knew' them up to a point, so conversation flowed easily.

I doubt I could be as relaxed in a set-up blind date scenario.

I would prefer to have an idea of the person I would meet, e. g. after talking to him on a social occasion before.

What about Blind dates... as in the person being physically blind? as in Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles kinda blind??? ..or blind date, as in not knowing the who, what, where , why, or when about the person you're meeting outside of what another person tells you? ... would not dating someone on a dating site such as CS be considered BLINDING DATING? I would think so, because you know nothing about the person outside of what he/she tells you about themselves and whats on their profile... which most often is very well a lie, and there is no way of finding out the truth without a lot of research. If a friend or a family member sets up for you a "blind date"... they only know what they have seen and been told, which usually isn't much. They just think the two of you will make a great match

Many times after meeting the blind date male or female in person, you still don't know if he's (true for men) married with six kids at home or across town, blind dating works no difference than dating sites... as far as I can see. Still doesn't mean the relationship will work upon meeting in the physical. IT feels good, sounds good, and looks good, but never turns out good...
Of course, I speak for myself.
