"THE POWER OF CHRISTMAS EVE"

Even when you would think that its impossible(After all theyve just Spent most of the year Killing each other)..These Two Sides called a truce......It was on Christmas Eve ..When the Germans And the Allies(At most only a Hundred yards apart from each other)Laid down their weapons....Came out of the Trenches and greeted each other with hand shakes..They traded from each other for what they didnt have...They actually sat down and Talked as if they were best of Friends....And when they were done they shook hands and went back to their trenches(And Im sure it mustve passed through their Minds..."What ta hell are we here for?"......It took "Christmas Eve" itself..To stop World War 1 in in its Tracks..(If only for a short While).............................detective

The Truce in the First World War shows to me the true power and love of Christmas...peace on earth .. Even if it was only for a short time, Christmas United and filled them with peace and love for mankind.

I pray always for peace to be in the hearts of man... Forgiveness and charity.
It would be wonderful Nam... Lovely thoughts heart wings hug
You caught the exact meaning I was trying to get across......."The Power Of Christmas Eve".............Thanks Wallops.................................detective
They began the Truce, by a soldier singing 'silent Night, holy night ' I believe it was a German soldier and then all joined in... It was then they came out of their trenches. They played football and even exchanges chocolate or some form of gifts.
To me it shows how when you feel true love in your heart you cannot at that same moment harbour bad feelings and how that love is contagious and that night and for a while it entered into their hearts. heart wings
I wish we could all sing that song together at this very moment ...it won't take 3 minutes of our time really...angel

Sometimes Nam, you have to be the pioneer in a family .. Somewhere it all starts with one person wanting to make a difference... Just like that one soldier singing brought an end to war for a time.
I am sad for those who do not have loving families I truly am. sad flower
Like Loulou said.. Remember your CS family and I am sure you also have good friends.
