The Reason Is, actually, Many!!

I go to the library everyday. It's a small one here in Bullhead City and one gets to know everyone pretty good. Some talk a little and others greet you as friendly as you greet them. Some like my silly jokes and some just "kinda" grin.

Then there is one that has no response so I just walk past her and there is another one, the janitor, that rarely says anything in response. Mostly just a look like "What the hey"!!

TODAY!!! However, the janitor asked me several questions (I was surprised) about why I come here so much. My answer was a question, "Why are you here so much?" I asked. He turned around and looked at me and said, "I get paid to come here. I work here". I replied, "Well, I don't need to work so this is where I come".

I continued to also say other things, like, I am retired and I have nothing to do on a daily basis. I could go to the casinos but what for? I like my money. I could go drinking but, again, I like my money and I don't need to be drunk every day. I could go cruising but at my age I could be accused of being a pervert and the police and citizen's would really notice that. Besides, how many "chicks" my age walk around seeing if there's any "action".

I also said, there are books here and I love to read, I don't have to pay for newspapers because there's about a dozen different ones here. I use the computers, and again, they're free of charge. "So why would I not come here", I asked? His response was, "You got it all figured out".

Now I didn't tell him this because I didn't want to disrespect him, but, well yeah. It doesn't take a Harvard Phd. to figure that out because that's what libraries are for. I don't know of any library that doesn't have the same privileges.

He went into the ladies room to clean it and I thought to myself that it sure was a weird question/conversation. But then I thought. He has never been real friendly so maybe it was his way of breaking the ice.

That's good because now I will break him in further with my repertoire of silly jokes!! Hee Hee!

Ashy Girl!!

HA HA!! Good one. I'll stay under the radar!!

very mad 70!!

I love books! I read anything. It sure beats boredom and I have discovered some of the neatest things while I'm reading!

GG!

Looking pretty as always.

You know, the janitor is curt but I think that he doesn't mean it and since your right in it's none of his business I just gave him an answer without the usual sarcasm because, again, he's just that way. It's his personality.

Hee Hee! You do what I do. Just read read read and enjoy the atmosphere.
Hello, Ed,wave Like your blog, I was just mentioning to a friend I was going to start making an occasional trip to the library. I could read the paper, meet some new people, sit in the park..... an outing. One of those free things in life that people take for granted. Thanks Bud, You have a Good one,yay
12121!!

I do not understand why more people don't come here (to the library, that is) because it is just as you say. A nice way to just do stuff.

I moved to Bullhead City for the quiet and the peace and I have found that here. I am completely amazed that it's practically empty all the time.
Hello Ed, wave Back again, the more I think of it, the more our library has to offer, a nice restaurant a block away, a nice city park adjoining the library. Me being a history buff, what a place for some good reading and local history. My grandparents settled in the area in 1914, I ll be able to look into it,yay A lot of the old classic novels don t get much attention these days, I ll have my choice, yay Local, and provincial papers there, free to browse over, yay Our city hall isn t far away, gives me a chance to pay utility bills there. And its time to meet some new people, yay And the more I think of it, the better it gets, yay yay Nice place to spend some time, and it don t hurt the pocket book, yay yay yay Catch you later, handshake

That's what a library is!

I'm sympathetic to this library employee that doesn't understand this. Because he hasn't seen what we have seen! A treasure of knowledge and "shooting the breeze" and just "stuff". I like the "stuff" things!! laugh

Calleis!!

Right on, girl!

The staff here in Bullhead City is really nice, as I said before, but for a couple that don't like "socializing".

I'll bet your libraries are loaded with wonderful things like art, superb history and all sorts of goodies!! And "stuff"!!!!

laugh

Reddy Girl!

Again!! That's what I mean. We have all kinds of cool things here with the authors! We also have stuff for seniors like chair yoga, exercising in chairs for the one's that have poor balance, and it's a polling place for voters!

You all have gotten the idea!

Thanks for commenting to all of you!!!
