Firmiana simplex W. F. Wight Flower

In my school time when i wanted to have my own English name first time,my foreign language teacher suggested me that my English name should be closed to my Chinese name.But i said no.I wanna a meaningful name.

I like and love firmiana simplex W. F. Wight flower.It's not only for its beautiful but also because its language of flower.
Language of firmiana simplex flower is "First awakening of love",but the most important is its "You are the one I cherish the most".

The pronunciation of Cherrie is closed to Cherish.So i got Cherrie.It means that one day i can wait for until a person to come and who is the "You are the one I cherish the most".

People should be proud of their own names, and not try to be something else.

Molly, my opinion on the subject was once exactly like yours but in everyday life, communicating with language should work like a well oiled machine. Making phone calls and identifying yourself in a complicated foreign tongue, only slows the machine down. That is why, in this shrinking world, I know feel sometimes it is best for some people to have more than one name.

Molly,maybe the name is used in different area and different demands .but chinese name just is surname follow father,but name is taken for beautiful or best wishes to children.so it is the great different with western people.like HK people because that england charged before,some female's surname is follow ing their husband ,but land of china is different.just the surname is follow father,and also surname is in front of name.for example:Fan bingbing,Fan is her father's surname ,but bingbing is just sounds pretty and sweet.so western name for some chinese people is just status symbol,it doesnt stand for any meaning.the manner and meaning of taking name is great different.

it is not they are not proud of their names.just the difference is great.maybe someone of somewhere the name is stand for a family ,but in china many people have the same name.like Fan bingbing ,also there are other people are taking the same name.because the surname of them are all Fan, just bingbing it doesnt mean any meaning,its just for they called is sweet and pretty.so like they take western name is also like it .maybe David or John is meaningful ,but they take the name just is for calling them be convenient for signs ,brands or symbol for a person.

because foreign trade, history ,religion or business,so the name is like that.It is for their communication is convenient or their relationship is closed to each other.It doesnt stand for nationality color.

like hongkong or macau,they have western name is because history reason.in land of china ,maybe is for studying english to communicate western teachers is convenient,or for business with western people or in a western enterprises to work,or for religion etc.because now every country's people communicate or business relation is so frequent,messages is developed.
but chinese language is complicated and also almost all kinds of western goods is selling here.trade,education,business,industry,religion,manufacturing etc make they communicate with each other.it is nothing to do with nationality proud mind.
