Don't know what's up with my threads as of late, maybe it's just lack of sleep that got me thinking about things...But ever notice that there are times when you think out of nowhere of someone from a past relationship both the good ones & the bad? Whether it's a song or something you hear someone say, it seems that that those from your past come creeping into your mind and have you thinking of yester year.

All the time! They're in your memory. It's unhelpable & unstopable. But if you can learn a lesson from it, it can only be a good thing. thumbs up

Absolutely. Yes, songs or a memory, or a thread on here that relates to it will trigger this. I think we all experience this. wine

Honestly, it was the "looking back" on a lost relationship that gave me courage to leave my bad marriage. I saw what I gave up for what I "had" & decided that it was time for a change. As I said, if you pull the positive out of it, memories can only help. thumbs up

Funny how sometimes if we aren't careful that we only remember the good moments and good times. It's important, in my opinion, to remember the bad times also.

Da10th: For me, personally, I've had relationships that ended "good". We either were put away by one moving away or just mutually just deciding to be friends. I've had my fair share of disaster relationships but I tend to really find myself thinking about the ones that were good for some reason.

And its not even just relationships really, just moments of my past of who I was or who I wanted to be. I dunno, maybe I'm just tired, I did afterall only get 30 minutes of sleep last night and when I'm tired, my mind tends to wander into la la land and I find myself daydreaming of the days I considered to be the best and sometimes the days I considered to be my worst.

I don't dwell on them, but just seems to be moments of my life that I want to hold onto I guess and never let go but with everyday, I find they slip away, just a little more.

Just a little too reminiscent in my mind I guess.

comfort "if you have one foot in the past and one foot in the future, you are pissing on today"..........just a thought that I hold onto. Not my thought, I don't know where it originated, but it has served me well.

I've had relationships that have turned into friendships, but I still don't think about the merry times we had as a couple. Once you have hit my friends list, after a relationship, that is where you stay.

I don't look back, turn back and wonder......nothing.....yesterday is dead and gone....that's why I like that rap song so much, it's not about relationships per say, but it is about evolving and understanding-getting to the point of where you want to be - all the while seemingly feeling around in the dark as to where you are....jmo

With that guy, there honestly weren't bad times. I screwed it up. But I don't live in the past. It's cool.

Ironically, my ex & I were walking the dog one day & walked right past a church as my ex-boyfriend & his new wife were walking out, after being married. That was my "big hint". But my marriage was actually over waaaaaay before that.
