Absolutely! I'm an avid reader, and have been known to have a few going at one time. I admit that I haven't been reading as much as I used to lately. I spend a lot of time...maybe way too much...on CS lately, and the time I do have for reading is now dedicated to my textbooks or related reading. I just picked up a book to read for fun for the first time in months, and am enjoying it, but it's going slow since I am trying to do it between many other things. Life will get back into balance, and I'll be reading more.
Have you ever stayed up all night to finish a book that was too good to put down? I've done it several times in my life.
gypsykisses: I am when I'm not going to school...I love Mauve Binchey's books..can't get enough of them...ancient history as well..
Maeve Binchy is an excellent author! Love her stuff!
My favorite these days is Morgan Llewellyn...she writes about the ancient Celts, and does it with well-researched facts that she fleshes out with fiction. Wonderful books.
I'm not a bookworm, but I enjoy reading and usually have a book going, along with three different magazines I read each month, plus the daily newspaper and all the internet news I can handle everyday.
clara1956: I´m not familiar with Mauve Binchey, what kind of books does she write?
I like history, too, and science fiction/fantasy
She writes books that are in a setting with people whether it be friends or family. I am so tired right now, doubtful I can make sense but I'll try. She weaves them all together and allows you to get to know them, love them or hate them, you feel as if you know these people and you've been to their homes, cities etc...she writes vividly and personal. I hate when one of her books comes to an end--it feels like I have lost some friends when it is all over with. Such a beautiful writer..

thank you Druides, I can never remember how to spell her name, but, if you come over, we can go to Barnes and Noble and I can show you where her section is--you can even blindfold me..

solitare: Ah, but of course to most but holding a book while I cook is dangerous; I like to get the recipe correct but not with the book into the pan, pot or the sauce!. Only 2 types of gifts: a long sought after book or an art painting; and I do go beyond legalities to obtain an occasional book. Depends on what it is, age and/ or subject. Addicted to books? I must be with over ten thou. throughout the house...Haven't taken an inventory in over 15 years...I really have to!(Then build my own Library building.) We are what we read...

Ty for the comment, GK. If you feel like that when a book is finished, it surely means the author is a good one!

BTW, Solitare, with that many books of yours I`m curious: what are some of the oddest books you have? Once I bought an old one on glass making, the pics all black and white. Why did it appeal to me? It was like a window on a different time, like travelling.Oh, books can be marvellous.
I am definitely a bookworm. I usually have two or three books by my bed, several in the living room, a couple in the bathroom, and one in the kitchen. I can't even count the times I have stayed up all night because I couldn't put down a book. I don't have thousands, but I do have two bookshelves and need to get a third! I couldn't survive if I couldn't read.
Do any of you read and watch TV at the same time? Used to drive my friends nuts doing that.
