Ive been recently offered 2 jobs with heaps more pay and it would be less work for me to do at those jobs..

Im sticking with the job where I get less pay and a job that knackers me by the end of the week cause I said to myself its better to stay with the Devil you know than the Devil you dont knowdevil

I did that 11 years ago. From a well paid, secure, government job as a tax inspector, to an English teacher, travelling to far flung places at a fraction of the salary.

I´m poorer, but much happier. grin

I have mixed feelings. My career is in dental assisting and have been offered a job in a state of the art dental office but making less than I do now. The hours are longer and the work is more challenging so I should jump at the chance like Jan and be happier ... right?

But at my age and retirement 10 yrs away, I'm not sure I have the desire to go back. I have come to like the shorter days and more pay. And to combat the boredom in the economic slump, my employer has installed a TV for us to watch.

I think I have become LAZY.doh

Sounds like it would be about the same stuff at a different location. For less mony. In that case I think I would stay put

Ide stay where you are and instead of watching tele make yourself busy whether thats dusting or sweeping the office or do what alot do here in Oz..

Go for a brisk walk or a jog or to the gym in your lunch break.cheers

I work at the front desk of a hotel so I don't get a break which makes for the shorter days. And I have already dusted, watered the plants, washed the windows and mopped the floors. All of which housekeeping has already done once today.

In desperation I decided to come here ... it's helping! It's been awhile since I was last here.

I own my own homebased business and wouldn't give it up for any amount of money.

Just more challenging? No.
My job is challenging enough as it is.

But if the new job is something I'd enjoy doing more than what I am doing now, I think I'd go for a little less money. So it's a 'YES'.

I think you should stick with the job you have. Try getting a new hobby that you can get stuck into and give you something to look forward to. Something that will challenge you and get you out of your comfort zone.
