THIS THREAD IS FOR PEOPLE THAT ARE REALLY TALKING , AND WANT TO TALK ABOUT WHAT FUNERALS AND I REPEAT WHAT FUNERALS THEY WOULD ATTEND ?? ??
why would you attend ? tell the truth now !
and if you were given the chance to make a PUBLIC speech about that celebrity what would you say ?
i attended Jade Goody's funeral yesterday ( the british reality tv star ) !
WHATS PUBLIC SOULS HAVE TOUCH YOU SPIRITUALLY ( THAT YOU ACTUALLY TALK ABOUT ) ! because there's some bigots on this website thats got nothing good to say about themselves or anybody else ( you'll soon see who they are when they start talking..and can't talk about anything good for more than a few seconds )!

If I could it would have been Martin Luther King's.Great respect to the man who lived and died for a worthy cause.
I know Princess Diana wasn't a celebrity, but if I had the chance I would have gone to her funeral.
I set my alarm clock to 4:00 a.m. the day of her funeral so I could watch it and I will admit that I cried all through it. I wanted to cry because IMO she was such a good person. She had so much to contribute to the world in addition to being a loving mother.
I know this will sound strange, but I would want to go to her funeral not only to pay respect but to feel the pain even more deeply from losing her.

i know exactly what you mean snuggs09 ..trust me !
a lot of it is all to do with how she connected with ordinary people
she was treated terribly by the royal family but the public loved her could turned into mutiny
There is no celebrity that I would attend a funeral. I like what they are; I enjoy their trade; they are interesting to follow and read about; however, I don't consider them part of my life. I am not emotional attached to them. If they are a movie star I pay my money to see their movie. When I leave the theatre my involvement with them is finished. We all are different. We each have different interest. This is not one of mine.
Patrick Swayze just because I think he is a decent human being. Been married more than 20 years to the same person...that's something in Hollywood. Fighting incredible odds with dignity. And a great dancer!
I wouldn't go to any celebs funeral...Funerals are sad and emotional soooooooo I reserve them for people I am close to or I at least know in person....They aren't something I want to attend as a novelty because I don't like attending them at the best of times.....

I don't know why - i don't go to a lot of funerals, but those i do attend are beautiful, the circle of life thing i think.

It´s very sad when anyone dies, of course, and I have been very upset by the deaths of some public figures, but attending a funeral for me, would only be for relatives or friends.
I just don´t get this public outpouring of grief for people who appear on our tv screens and have never been a real part of their lives.

I lost three of the most important people in my life in the space of eight days - first my mother - then Diane two days later and then Mother Theresa. I cried 5 billion tears...

I loved all three.
I´m sure I must be misunderstanding your post, but how on earth can you put the death of your mother alongside the deaths of Mother Teresa and Diana?
I understand why you would be upset by the deaths, as I have been, of certain public figures as I´ve already mentioned, but in comparison to losing my parents (touch wood!) for example....I just don´t understand.

They are beautiful...BUT I still don't like them...They're fulllll of sooooooo much sadness and pain...Sooooo unless I absolutely have to because the person was family or I or my kids were close to them...I don't...One of the saddest funerals I ever attended was for a 16 year old friend of my daughters who committed suicide in February and that was really had for me to attend...but I went to support my daughter and I was just as emotional as everyone else there...even though I didn't know him that welllllll....
