Well, I guess you could exchange email addys and phone numbers and talk on the phone for awhile before you decided to go out with each other.

There haven't been any speed dates in this are for me to go to. But I would try it. The whole idea is to meet and see if they grab your interest with a few opening lines. I'm not clear as whether you can give them just an email or phone number if they set up to where you go out on another date. Either way I think it would be a great way to meet people and see what's out there. But I'm the type to try most anything once.

Yeah I've heard about it. It sounds like it might be interesting. I might try it if I were single. You never know, you just might click with someone right away. At least it would be an experience.

One goes on not too far from here. Have been thinking about
it as I told my sis nothing else is working right now. You
meet in a good atmosphere and spend 8 minutes with each person,
some are a wee bit longer. If I give it a go I will have
a thread on how it went. I'm not getting any younger and
I can be Sassy, so what have I got to lose.

I've heard of it too. You couldn't pay me to do it. It makes absolutely no sense to me. I don't understand how some people can do it. Romantically speaking it's hard to gain a woman's interest under normal conditions.

Been there, done it. If you want a serious relationship, forget about speed dating. Even if you're not serious, the women are just as impossible to impress as in real life.

I see a lot of profiles and posts that say, "No men will be serious about me." or "Men will chat but then disappear." Try to b just a friend to some of these same women and they give you the cold shoulder.

Don't think I'd be interested to try it. To me, it sounds like a convair belt.
