Sommerauer71: We have this thread going in the EU forums, after watching her again, I was pretty much incensed by the judges reaction that she was so good.

The judges are advocating judging a book by it's cover.
Anyone inclined to agree with me?

Yes most definatley. I think the look of someone is as important as a voice for marketing reasons. I don't agree with it, a talent is a talent.
But visual appearance is also taken into consideration, whilst listening to the voice.
We as persons should never make light of others because they don't fit a mold of false pretense and puffed up ideals. Because we may find ourselves the laughing stock instead. By playing the head we find we were the tail all along.
It is a great thing to take ridicule and turn it into love.

Even if you do "fit the mold" you can still feel like the laughing stock.
She was the conversation with my clients today. They all had seen and heard her. I sent a love letter to my daughter today reminding both of us how lovely a woman's voice is, in song.

Show me a person that does not judges on looks, who wanted to laugh when she walked on the stage?
Who wanted to laugh when she walked on stage, with her white stilettos and terrible dress???
Not to mention her in dire need of eyebrow plucking.
We can all sit and say how beautifully she sang, she did, it was amazing, would it have been so amazing and shocking had she been beautiful to look at?
I bet Simon Cowell is rubbing his hands in glee, he has already called in nutrionalists, manicurists, beauticians and designers.
She'll win, people love the underdog, she deserves to, but hell there will be money to be made.
